1000-lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton Gets Engaged to Brian Lovvorn After Just 5 Months

TLC’s Amy Slaton is ready to tie the knot.

The star of 1000-lb Sisters, 37, confirmed to People on Tuesday, May 13, that she will marry her boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvorn, following his proposal featured in an episode that aired earlier that day.

Details emerged about their memorable moment, which occurred “during winter 2024” in a haunted house located in Henderson, Kentucky, after a five-month courtship.

“Initially, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop onto my finger while I was asleep, just two weeks into our relationship,” Amy recounted to the outlet. “I was taken aback, and I said yes—but only if the actual proposal happened in a haunted house on Halloween.”

Amy Slaton’s blossoming relationship with Brian Scott Lovvorn is so profound that they’ve already contemplated parenthood together. During the episode of 1,000-Lb. Sisters that aired on Tuesday, April 15, Amy, 37, surprised her sister Amanda Halterman by mentioning a recent discussion with her partner. “He brought up the idea of me getting my […]

Amy, who talked about her aspirations to have more children with Lovvorn in the April 15 episode of 1000-lb Sisters, also acknowledged her sister, Tammy Slaton, voiced concerns about the quick pace of Amy’s engagement. “She [Tammy] genuinely felt we were moving too fast,” Amy admitted to the outlet.

As a mother of two, sons Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2, from her previous marriage to Michael Halterman, Amy’s life is already busy. Us Weekly reported that the couple separated in March 2023 after four years of marriage.

Regarding her new beginning, Amy described her engagement ring as “gothic” and designed with two skeleton hands forming a heart, eschewing the traditional diamond. “He mentioned something about, ‘My love for you is intense; it’s almost scary how well we match,’” Amy recalled of Lovvorn’s proposal. “Just like our matching tattoos say, ‘Scary love.’”

Amy expressed that she doesn’t anticipate a lengthy engagement, as she and Lovvorn are planning a “small, quaint” wedding, ideally around Halloween. “[We are] still working on the wedding party arrangements… we need a venue, dress, flowers, essentially everything,” Amy elaborated.

While many specifics remain undecided, Amy did share one particular vision. “I envision the dress being white with black lines, a corset with a princess poof,” she mentioned. “Brian wants me to have pink hair for the wedding, and I dream of a Victorian-style updo.”

In November 2024, rumors about Amy’s potential pregnancy circulated, prompting Tammy, 38, to publicly defend her sister. “I wish people would stop spreading rumors,” Tammy stated in a TikTok video dated November 4. “But I’m here to clarify that Amy is not pregnant.”
