What Texture is Ideal for Foundation for Dry Skin?
Creamy or liquid foundations are ideal since they smoothly glide on the skin and offer moisture, whereas powder foundations may cling to dry patches and can accentuate flakiness, which is not the look we desire.

Understanding Dry Skin vs. Dehydrated Skin
I had a discussion with skincare expert Jennie Hudson (@jenniehudsonskin on Instagram) about dry vs. dehydrated skin. “Many people confuse dry skin with dehydrated skin,” she shared. “Dry skin lacks natural oils, while dehydrated skin is devoid of water and hydration. Even oily skin can experience dehydration.”
Jennie emphasized, “To address dry skin, focus on nourishment and repair, while targeting dehydration with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides.”
She recommends the Dermalogica Hyaluronic Ceramide Mist. “It is safe for use over makeup, suitable for all skin types, and aids in strengthening the skin barrier.”
