3 Must-Watch New Movies on Prime Video This Weekend (February 27 – March 1)

After Valentine’s Day, the Super Bowl, and the 2026 Winter Olympics, what’s left to enjoy in February?

Catch some films on Prime Video! Watch With Us has put together a handy weekend guide featuring the top movies available on Amazon’s streaming platform.

One standout film currently on Prime is My Mother’s Wedding, a charming dramedy focusing on a family coming together for a wedding.

Other noteworthy picks include the underrated Amy Adams rom-com Leap Year and the classic ’80s sci-fi hit RoboCop.

‘My Mother’s Wedding’ (2025)

When fiftysomething matriarch Diana (Kristin Scott Thomas) announces her upcoming nuptials, her three adult daughters are taken aback yet relieved. Upon arriving at the scenic country estate for the ceremony, Katherine (Scarlett Johansson), Georgina (Emily Beecham), and Victoria (Sienna Miller) reflect on their past relationships and their current happiness.

My Mother’s Wedding is a light-hearted comedy-drama. With picturesque settings and a humorous take on personal conflicts, it feels delightfully quaint. Anglophiles will appreciate the quintessential British humor, while viewers will enjoy the witty banter among the sisters. Despite a questionable English accent, Johansson shines as a career-driven woman. Honey, I can relate.

My Mother’s Wedding is available for streaming on Prime Video.

‘Leap Year’ (2010)

Anna (Amy Adams) seems to be out of luck. Traveling from Boston to Ireland to be with her long-term boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott), she finds herself stuck in a small town due to bad weather. Desperate, she hires local pub owner Declan (Matthew Goode) to drive her to Dublin. However, their journey is littered with misfortunes. The silver lining? Anna starts to fall for Declan. But will they confess their feelings before reaching Dublin?

Leap Year follows the classic rom-com formula, yet it boasts two major strengths: the stunning Irish landscape and the charm of Adams, one of today’s most delightful actors. Her portrayal of Anna makes you root for her. Who wouldn’t dream of a love triangle involving Matthew Goode and Adam Scott while exploring lush Ireland? Leap Year embodies the magic of movies, making it a shame that Hollywood doesn’t produce these types of films anymore.

Leap Year is streaming on Prime Video.

‘RoboCop’ (1987)

Imagine if one of the greatest action films from the ’80s also happens to be one of the finest satires ever created. That’s the brilliance of the original RoboCop, Paul Verhoeven‘s cleverly crafted sci-fi comedy that is just as humorous as it is violent.

After Detroit police officer Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) is brutally attacked and left to die, he receives a new lease on life as RoboCop, an android enforcer with three core directives: serve the public, protect the innocent, and uphold the law. This is a challenging mission in a crime-infested, dystopian Detroit, but RoboCop’s ruthless tactics quickly earn him public favor. Yet, when he uncovers a conspiracy involving the tech company that created him, RoboCop rebels. Law and order aren’t as straightforward as they seem, and he decides to deliver his own brand of justice.

On the surface, RoboCop may appear as another glossy ’80s action flick stuffed with over-the-top shootouts and an absurd premise. However, beneath this veneer lies a sharp critique of capitalism, corporate influence on justice, and the essence of humanity. RoboCop can be surprisingly profound for its genre, yet it doesn’t shy away from delivering the grit, violence, and memorable moments that fans crave!

RoboCop is available for streaming on Prime Video.
