While February is often linked to romance, a captivating thriller is always in season. This month, platforms like Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, Peacock, and Paramount+ have rolled out an exciting selection of new films. From these options, Watch With Us has curated a list of five must-see thriller masterpieces that you won’t want to miss.

After Emily’s (Rooney Mara) husband, Martin (Channing Tatum), is released from a four-year prison sentence for insider trading, his return fails to lift her out of her depression. She ultimately descends into a severe depressive episode that culminates in a suicide attempt. Her psychiatrist, Jonathan (Law), then prescribes a series of antidepressants to alleviate her distress. When these don’t work, he offers her an experimental drug with the consent of her former psychiatrist (Catherine Zeta-Jones), but the medication shows deadly side effects.

This gripping psychological thriller serves as both compelling entertainment and a scathing critique of the pharmaceutical industry along with its treatment of mental health. With a clear Hitchcockian influence in both direction and screenplay, Side Effects seamlessly merges Steven Soderbergh‘s stylish direction with incisive writing from Scott Z. Burns, crafting a remarkable narrative filled with suspense and unexpected twists.

After a seemingly unfounded tip leads to a libel lawsuit against him, disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) is enlisted by Swedish tycoon Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer) to unravel the mystery of his niece’s murder, 40 years previous. Initially hesitant, Blomkvist is persuaded when Vanger offers incriminating evidence against the businessman behind Blomkvist’s lawsuit, Hans-Erik Wennerström. To aid him, Blomkvist recruits the talented Lisbeth Salander (Mara), an isolated yet brilliant investigator who conducted Vanger’s background check. Together, they delve into a chilling investigation.

David Fincher‘s adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best-selling novel is fast-paced, stylish, and brutally captivating, highlighted by an Oscar-nominated, transformative performance from Mara. The film is steeped in an atmosphere of gloomy despair, amplified by the harsh, wintry Scandinavian backdrop. You’ll never listen to “Orinoco Flow” by Enya in quite the same way again.

Brothers Toby (Pine) and Tanner Howard (Ben Foster) orchestrate a series of heists targeting the bank threatening to foreclose on their family ranch. Determined to provide for his ex-wife and two young boys, Toby partners with Tanner, a short-tempered ex-con prone to risky decisions. Hot on their trail are Texas Rangers Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges), weeks away from retirement, and his partner Alberto Parker (Gil Birmingham), who are ready to take the brothers down in a climactic showdown.
