Why Faith Ward is the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader with a Unique Ponytail
Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Faith Ward is here to “set the record straight” about her signature ponytail, which is unique among her teammates.
At 22, Ward, one of the newest team members, took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 23, to share details about her iconic hairstyle. The New Zealand native revealed that she was introduced to the recruiting team with her ponytail visible in her headshot.
“I’ve been hearing a lot of stories, and I’m here to clarify,” Ward stated in the video while wearing her uniform. “As you can see in my headshot, that’s how it all began. They discovered me that way, and I guess they just preferred my hair up instead of down.”
She added, “There’s not much more to it!” explaining that the ponytail made its appearance at training camp “just two weeks in.”
“They asked me to put it up, and I just kept it that way,” Ward remarked. “The uniform fittings confirmed it for me.”
Ward expressed excitement that Kelli Finglass, the DCC director, likened her look to Ariana Grande and approved of her hairstyle. To enhance the ponytail, Ward added extensions and “went a little blonder.”
She wrapped up the video saying, “Stay tuned to see my cameo and if the ponytail sticks around!”
Fans praised her hairstyle in the comments. “This is so iconic. The girl with the ponytail! 😍,” one wrote, while another joked, “Is Faith really Faith if she doesn’t have her iconic slick back ponytail?” Many requested a tutorial on her voluminous and slicked-back hair: “I love it and will need a pony tutorial—thank you!”
In contrast to Faith, the other DCC members wear their hair down, styled in large, bouncy curls.
