Calvin Harris Posts Placenta Photos Following Baby Micah’s Arrival
Calvin Harris is now officially a father, as his wife, Vick Hope, welcomed a baby boy.
“On July 20, our son arrived,” Harris, 41, shared via Instagram on Monday, August 4. “Micah is here! My wife is a superhero, and I am completely in awe of her primal wisdom! I’m just so grateful. We love you so much, Micah ❤️❤️❤️.”
As he announced the birth of his son, Harris posted a photo of the newborn resting peacefully on his shoulders.
Additionally, the DJ shared images of Hope, 35, in a water birth tank, including a shot of what appeared to be Hope’s placenta.
Harris later posted an image depicting parts of the placenta being dehydrated, alongside a jar of supplements.
“Love to see the placenta!!” singer Becky Hill commented. “It’s amazing that we create an entire organ to sustain life! Great job not letting it go to waste; that’s some goddess magic right there!”
According to the Mayo Clinic, consuming the placenta post-birth may pose risks for mothers and their babies. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also cautioned against using placenta capsules.
Nonetheless, some individuals believe that ingesting the placenta can help ward off postpartum depression.
Since embracing fatherhood, Harris has quickly returned to performing. In August, he played at the outdoor venue Ushuaïa Ibiza in Spain, with an upcoming performance scheduled for October at the Rise Festival in Las Vegas.
While Harris is a globally renowned artist, he strives to maintain a low profile regarding his personal life.
Harris and Hope reportedly exchanged vows in northeast England in September 2023. Prior to that, Hope indicated she intended to keep the wedding details private.
“The interest in it was quite overwhelming, but I’m keeping my personal life to myself,” the British TV presenter shared with Hello! in 2022. “I’ve never had this level of attention regarding my private life, but it’s just for us.”
Before meeting Hope, Harris was in a relationship with Taylor Swift for nearly a year until their breakup in the summer of 2016.
In a rare interview, Hope confessed that she occasionally listens to the “Shake It Off” artist.
“Whenever my husband leaves, I listen to Taylor Swift,” Hope revealed during an April 2024 episode of the “Going Home With Vick, Katie and Jamie” radio show. “It’s just a little indulgence for me. Just a couple of songs to get it out of my system before it’s done.”
