Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Dancer Jan Ravnik Enters DWTS Season 34

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dancers lit up the venue — and now one of them is making his way to the Dancing With the Stars stage.

Good Morning America announced on Thursday, August 28, that Jan Ravnik is set to join the dance competition’s season 34 as the newest professional dancer.

“Good morning, America. I’m Jan Ravnik, and after touring the globe with the Eras Tour, I’m excited to step onto the ballroom stage for Dancing With the Stars. The mirrorball trophy never goes out of style, and we’re ready to win it,” he shared in a special video message.

Ravnik gained fame while touring with Swift, 35, for her record-setting Eras Tour. He has been a well-respected dancer in the industry for decades, with appearances in film and television, including performances at the 97th Academy Awards and on Mariah Carey’s Christmas special. Before working with Swift, he shared stages with notable artists like Paula Abdul and Bruno Mars.

DWTS first hinted at Ravnik’s casting on Wednesday, August 27, by posting a sparkling purple image and a purple emoji on social media. Swifties quickly made the connection, as the color symbolizes one of the pop star’s “eras,” representing her 2010 album, Speak Now.

“Jan Jan Jan!!!!” exclaimed one enthusiastic follower in the comments section on X, while another accurately predicted, “They’re gonna reveal Jan as the new pro — watch this space.” A third user shared a GIF of Swift sweeping her hand across Ravnik’s bare chest, a viral moment from her “Lavender Haze” performance during the Eras Tour.

Rumors about Ravnik’s DWTS participation began circulating earlier this month after a video surfaced of him dancing with pro Jenna Johnson, where they showcased Ravnik’s original choreography to Kelly Clarkson’s cover of Billie Eilish’s song “Happier Than Ever.”

“If the rumors of Jan Ravnik being a DWTS pro are true, prepare to be SICK of me,” one user tweeted at that time.

Ravnik has frequently praised Swift, expressing how “beyond grateful” he felt to be part of the Eras Tour after his initial performance with the “Anti-Hero” singer back in 2023. As the tour concluded nearly two years later, he thanked Swift for “changing” his life.

“I still can’t find the words to fully capture what I’m feeling,” he wrote on Instagram in December 2024. “There’s a weight in my chest, a blend of gratitude, love, and sadness, because merely saying ‘thank you’ doesn’t feel sufficient.”

Ravnik also mentioned that being part of the tour felt like a dream come true, stating, “I never imagined I’d perform in front of sold-out stadiums worldwide. Night after night, I shared the stage with the most dedicated, creative, and passionate individuals. 🤍 From my fellow dancers inspiring me to improve daily, to the band, background vocalists, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who contributed to the magic. A special shout-out to Mandy Moore for her visionary choreography and guidance that helped me grow as an artist. And of course, thank you to Taylor for raising the bar so high that it challenged us all to elevate our game.”

DWTS has already revealed its first celebrity contestants for the season, including wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, social media influencer Alix Earle, and The Secret Life of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt.

Dancing With the Stars season 34 premieres on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes will be available for next-day streaming on Hulu.
