Emilie Kiser Shares Her Thoughts on Therapy Following the Death of Her Son Trigg
Emilie Kiser reflects on her therapeutic journey after the loss of her and her husband Brady Kiser’s 3-year-old son, Trigg.
“I’m feeling good today. Well, when I say good, I mean I can cope and manage it. I don’t genuinely feel good, if that makes sense,” Emilie shared in a TikTok video on Sunday, September 28, TikTok.
While filming in her car, Emilie mentioned that she often has “a lot of self-discovery thoughts” during her drive to therapy.
“I’m prepping my mind to unload everything to her, which makes me a bit emotional on the way. I just start thinking about the reality of what I’m going through and I’m like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe this is my life,’” she said, as the video cut to her entering the session, admitting she felt “nervous.”
After her therapy session, the influencer, who boasts over 4.8 million followers, expressed that she often feels “nervous” before her appointments but ultimately finds the experience “worth it.”
“Today, we covered pretty much everything that has happened. It’s been tough—there’s no denying it. The grief, sadness, and the void we feel in our lives make it even harder,” she explained. “But I do feel better.”
She continued, “For much of my life, I wouldn’t say I was against therapy, but I struggled with it. I often thought, ‘I don’t need therapy, I’m fine.’ Yet, every time I leave a session, I feel like, ‘That was absolutely worth it.’ My day gets better afterward.”
Emilie noted that the therapeutic process can be “emotionally draining,” highlighting that there’s “a lot to unpack.”
“Many people say they feel emotionally exhausted after therapy. So afterward, I usually do something that replenishes my energy,” she shared. “I’ve only been in therapy for a few months, but I can confirm it helps immensely. My mindset and coping mechanisms have improved significantly. I highly recommend it.”
In her video caption, Emilie expressed, “Feeling grateful for therapy each week🤎 Hope you all had a wonderful weekend🍰✨.”
In May, the Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly that Trigg died at the age of 3 after being found unconscious in the family’s backyard pool. In July, authorities submitted a recommendation for criminal charges against Brady, who was present during the incident. However, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office later stated there was “no likelihood of conviction.”
Emilie spoke about Trigg’s death in August, saying, “Loss of this magnitude is so hard to articulate. I’ve spent countless days and months trying to express my feelings and process losing my baby.”
She continued, “Trigg will always be our baby and our best friend. The joy and spirit he radiated in this world were unmatched. We miss him every second, and moving forward often feels impossible. I never imagined experiencing grief like this or the sudden pain of losing him.”
Emilie, who also shares a son named Teddy with Brady, returned to TikTok earlier this month wearing a necklace that said “Trigg.”
“I’ve been a bit absent online lately,” she shared then. “I’m doing my best each day to navigate this, just taking it one day at a time while managing my content.”
