Barbie Ferreira Opens Up About Her Cosmetic Procedures
Barbie Ferreira opened up about the cosmetic enhancements she’s explored — and those she hasn’t.
The 29-year-old actress candidly discussed her experiences on the “In Your Dreams” podcast on Friday, May 1. As she approaches her 30th birthday, Ferreira shared that she’s considering new treatments, including a tretinoin retinoid cream to combat aging.
“Get the tret!” Ferreira advised host Owen Thiele, who asked if that was her sole skincare routine. “I love a laser,” she responded. “I haven’t tried Botox yet because I want to maintain expressiveness in my face, and I’m quite apprehensive about that option. Although I know I’ll eventually go there.”
Thiele pointed out that as an actress, Ferreira must keep the ability to “emote.” She concurred, stating, “I’m super expressive — the thought of Botox scares me. Instead, I prefer treatments like various lasers, including Potenza. I previously tried Morpheus 8 at 23, which was quite intense.” (Potenza helps enhance collagen, whereas Morpheus 8 utilizes microneedling to remodel collagen, tighten skin, and contour fat.)
“That treatment is almost like a facelift,” Ferreira explained about the powerful laser. The Euphoria star mentioned that the procedure was so painful she was offered ketamine and laughing gas. “I drove myself here! I’m fine!” she recalled with a chuckle.
Ferreira decided to try the laser treatment after hearing it might help reduce facial fat. “Now, I opt for Potenza. It’s slightly less painful,” she stated.
The model gained attention last month by expressing her views on self-acceptance. “Talking about weight loss or transformations is just so dull to me,” she noted in an episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “People seem fixated on that. It’s this obsession with youth, like, ‘The glow up! Or the glow down!’ It’s a cycle everyone gets caught up in. She was 16, and now she’s 25.”
She added, “It’s not just me; every actress faces scrutiny about being either too skinny or too heavy. It’s all rage bait. If something provokes outrage, it tends to perform better in the algorithm.”
