Lauren Bennett Experienced Reaction to Medication Prior to Passing

Singer Lauren Bennett experienced a “severe reaction” to medication a few months prior to her passing at the age of 36, as disclosed by her father.

“It is with immense sorrow that I announce the loss of my beautiful and talented daughter, @laurenbennett, the love of my life and my pride and joy,” Richard Bennett shared on Instagram on Tuesday, July 7. “Lauren was an extraordinary person and artist: creative, talented, humorous, and humble. She was deeply cherished by everyone who knew her and left a significant mark on countless lives through her music, kindness, and the warmth she brought to others.”

Richard noted that Lauren had a “special gift” from a very young age.

“She started performing professionally at just 12 years old, and witnessing her evolution into the artist she became was one of the greatest joys of my life,” he continued in his tribute. “Her accomplishments in the music industry were beyond our wildest dreams and continue to fill me with pride.”

Reflecting on her final months, Richard explained that Lauren had “suffered a severe reaction to a prescribed medication.”

“As a family, we rallied around her and did everything possible to support her,” he wrote, stressing that Lauren’s loved ones “have no doubts regarding the circumstances of her death, only profound disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services were unable to provide her with the appropriate care during her time of greatest need.”

“Lauren was immensely loved and will be mourned every day for the rest of our lives,” Richard remarked. “I hope she will be celebrated for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was. Her legacy endures through her daughter, her family, and the music she has left behind.”

Concluding, Lauren’s father stated, “As we navigate this unimaginable grief, we kindly ask for privacy and respect as our family mourns. We are profoundly thankful for the love, support, and kindness shown by friends, fans, and everyone who has reached out during this tremendously difficult time.”

Lauren, known for her feature on LMFAO’s 2011 hit “Party Rock Anthem,” passed away in Meopham village, Kent, England, on May 29, just ahead of her 37th birthday, according to online records. Her former G.R.L. bandmates Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula Van Oppen publicly addressed her death in a statement on Monday, July 6.

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lauren,” Estrada, 34, Slayton, 37, and Van Oppen, also 37, shared via Instagram. “Our hearts are shattered, and we cannot fully express how much she meant to us.”

Their statement continued, “We will always treasure the love, laughter, and countless memories she provided us. Her beautiful spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed and eternally loved. Rest peacefully, dear Lauren. You will remain in our hearts.”

The cause of Lauren’s death has yet to be disclosed. An inquest is set for October 30.
