‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Deem Food Puzzle Blunder as ‘Worst Answer Ever’

Fans of “Wheel of Fortune” are having a good laugh over yet another blunder that took place on the show.

During the episode that aired on December 30, contestants were challenged to identify a three-word phrase in the “food & drink” category. When it was contestant Gaelyn Nease’s turn, she successfully guessed several letters and the board displayed “Ne_ / _or_ / _heese_a_e.”

With a boost of confidence, Nease attempted to solve the puzzle. However, instead of saying “New York Cheesecake,” she mistakenly guessed “New York Cheesesteak,” ultimately losing the round.

Viewers online expressed their disbelief over Nease’s error, particularly since contestant Mike Tomani had already incorrectly guessed “T” in the phrase just before her turn.

“An all-time terrible answer on #wheel,” one individual remarked on X while sharing a clip of the cringe-worthy moment.

“I was watching. The worst I’ve ever seen ‘live’ on TV. What a nerd,” another user commented.

“I figured this moment would circulate. Oooooooof!!!” a third user chimed in.

A fourth user observed, “Game shows are tough, but that one should have been solved.”

This wasn’t the only blunder on “Wheel of Fortune” recently.

On the December 17 episode, contestant Phil McManus from Palmer, Massachusetts, incorrectly guessed a puzzle with the answer “Chocolate Chestnuts & Chi_ne_s.”

Additionally, during the November 11 episode, a contestant named Will brought laughter to fans when he attempted to solve the puzzle “Give yourself a round of applause” by guessing “Treat yourself a round of sausage.”

After the game concluded, Will spoke with social correspondent Maggie Sajak, daughter of former “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak, about his guess. He admitted feeling nervous on stage in front of hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White.

“I tell you, when the lights are on, and you’ve got the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White, I just blanked out,” he said. “But if your dad is at home watching this show in retirement, maybe cracking a beer and having a good laugh, then it was worth it.”
