Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli formed a friendship while portraying romantic interests on Off Campus, yet fans have begun to speculate that the duo may be experiencing discord.
Inspired by the Off-Campus book series written by Elle Kennedy, the series on Prime Video chronicles an elite ice hockey team and their romantic partners as they “navigate through love, heartbreak, and self-discovery — crafting profound friendships and lasting connections while facing the challenges of becoming adults,” according to the official synopsis.
The romance between Hannah (Bright) and Garrett (Cameli) was the focus of the first season, which premiered in May 2026. While Bright and Cameli developed a strong friendship behind the scenes, they, to the disappointment of some fans, chose to keep things strictly platonic.
Bright also responded to criticism after some viewers expressed concerns over her performing intimate scenes with Cameli, who was 28 at the time, while she was only 18.
“For Hannah, the guidelines specified partial nudity, whereas for Allie, it was full [nudity]. This distinction arose because Allie exudes incredible confidence in her body, and sexuality plays a significant role in her life,” Bright shared on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in June 2026, contrasting her character with Mika Abdalla’s Allie. “It honestly showcases the variation between these characters.”
She added, “Considering Hannah—particularly due to her background [of sexual assault]—she dresses more modestly in skinny jeans and hoodies. This distinction highlights the differences between the characters, which was always the aim from the start.”
Bright emphasized that “everyone was well aware of what we were getting into” during auditions.
As Off Campus gained international acclaim, the cast had to navigate multiple rumors and fan speculations about their private lives. Nevertheless, Bright and Cameli have chosen to maintain their privacy—especially following rumors of potential conflicts off-screen.

Bright described Cameli as “literally my brother.” She admitted she hadn’t “seen much” of the fan discussions surrounding their friendship, adding, “I cherish him dearly, but it’s quite amusing.”
The actress also noted that Cameli has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Raina Morris, since 2025.
“He has a perfect and wonderful girlfriend,” Bright praised, calling Morris “my angel on Earth.”
