Jason Kelce’s Children Create Mascot for His Late-Night ESPN Program

Jason Kelce is hosting an impressive late-night talk show that feels like a family event.

“The show definitely needs a mascot,” Kelce, 37, mentioned during the January 18 episode of ESPN’s They Call It Late Night. “We sought to find the right design team for the task.”

In a pre-recorded segment, Jason and his wife Kylie Kelce — the official announcer for They Call It Late Night — invited their children to come up with a mascot design. Jason and Kylie, 32, are parents to daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 23 months, and Kylie is also expecting their fourth child, another girl.

Before the youngest Kelces started brainstorming their ideas, Jason quizzed them.

Jason Kelce’s late-night ESPN talk show featured a special guest in the announcer booth — his wife, Kylie Kelce! “One of the cool things about this is not only do I have my own show, but I’m creating it alongside my wife, Kylie, as the announcer,” Jason, 37, stated during the January […]

“Do you know what a mascot is? Who’s the Eagles’ mascot?” he asked, and Ellie accurately named Swoop. (Jason was a center for the Philadelphia Eagles during his entire NFL career until his retirement in March 2024.)

“We need to create our own version of Swoop,” Jason suggested. “I thought it’d be a blast if we all designed it together.”

Wyatt, Ellie, and Bennett then began coloring potential mascots — each holding “something to drink” in their hand.

“I think we have a mascot, girls,” Jason later remarked. “We have Wyatt’s face, Ellie’s body, and then there’s a ‘pizza hand’ you drew over here [and] ‘chicken legs.’ This is our mascot.”

Wyatt and Ellie decided to name their creation “Dragon McFart-Fart Butt-Butt.”

“Sounds like he could be Irish?” Jason joked in response, eventually bringing the complete artwork into the ESPN studio.

Speaking to the live audience, he praised how well the girls “nailed” the task.

“I think Ellie was aiming for the face as well, but she got the body,” Jason noted. “I’m not sure how Kylie managed to get Bennie to draw anything. I’ve never succeeded in getting Bennie to draw.”

Kylie shared that Bennett’s contribution was an “accidental scribble” that turned out to look like legs. This inspired a mascot costume that one of Jason’s colleagues wore for the remainder of the show.

“Hello, I’m Dragon McFart-Fart Butt-Butt. So thrilled to be here,” the mascot exclaimed, to the amusement of Jason and Kylie. “Thanks a lot for making me, girls.”

Jason, on the other hand, was amazed by how his kids “f—ing nailed” the design.

“Fantastic! I’m at a loss for words,” he continued. “It’s incredible. … I adore this thing so much. It turned out absolutely perfect. I wish we could keep it forever; it’s a pity we only have it for two more weeks.”

Kelce’s They Call It Late Night airs Saturdays at 1 a.m. ET during the NFL playoffs, concluding in February with the 2025 Super Bowl.
