Robby Hoffman Reflects on Her First Fight with Wife Gabby Windey
Gabby Windey’s partner, Robby Hoffman, is sharing insights on their initial disagreement.
Comedian Hoffman, 35, discussed one of her unique airplane habits during the Wednesday, May 7, episode of Netflix’s Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, which sparked a midair dispute with the former Bachelorette.
When asked about how many times she had been ejected from flights, Hoffman replied, “I haven’t, but Gabby and I encountered our first argument when we had a woman sitting next to us on a long flight — I was in the middle, and Gab had the window.”
“This woman was sleeping soundly, and I really needed to use the restroom, but I didn’t want to disturb her. It was a lengthy flight. I’m quite flexible; I could balance on just the armrests,” Hoffman explained, demonstrating how she maneuvered over both host John Mulaney and fellow guest Ramy Yousseff.
“Why should I wake someone?” Hoffman reasoned.
Nevertheless, Hoffman noted that Windey wasn’t too thrilled. “Gabby said, ‘You can’t just walk over people,’” she reminisced. “I countered, ‘But should I wake them from their slumber? It’s tough to fall asleep.’ It might look a bit odd, but the intention behind it makes sense, I think.”
Guest Andy Samberg interjected, saying, “The obvious risk is that they wake up just as you’re standing over them.”
Hoffman replied, “They have, and then I explain, ‘But you were sleeping.’ And they’re still frustrated.”
Hoffman and Windey, 34, publicly acknowledged their relationship in August 2023 and got married in January. They revealed their marriage news in March.
“I’m married. I’m not going to cry,” Windey exclaimed on a March episode of her “Long Winded” podcast, referring to Hoffman as the “single best thing” that’s happened to her.
“And you all know, as I do, and now we’re married,” she continued. “I apologize for making you envious, but if it can happen to me, [it can happen to you].”
Windey mentioned that she kept “putting on my ring and taking it off,” as she and Hoffman tried to keep their wedding under wraps until March. “We got married two months ago and kept it to ourselves for once. Can I keep something to myself? No, I can’t,” she lamented. “I wish I could be more mysterious, but that gift isn’t mine since I have to share every single thought to earn a living around here. All the intrigue, vanished.”
The couple disclosed the details of their secret Las Vegas wedding in a March interview with Cosmopolitan. “We had just evacuated from the [Los Angeles] fires. Cue Rihanna, ‘We found love in a hopeless place,’” Windey shared with the outlet. “What better time to marry than now? If the world is ending, we want to be with each other.”
