Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Share a Romantic PDA Moment at the 2025 Cannes Festival
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are openly showcasing their affection at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
The couple was spotted sharing a tender kiss during the screening of Eleanor the Great on Tuesday, May 20. This upcoming film marks Johansson’s debut as a director, and she graced the stage in an elegant black gown to introduce the film.
“When you create an independent film like this, it’s not about the money — surprise, surprise,” Johansson, 40, remarked while introducing the project. “Everyone who came together to make this film did so because they truly loved the story and the script. It’s a film about many aspects of life: friendship, grief, and forgiveness. I believe these are themes we could all benefit from more these days.”
Featuring talents like June Squibb, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Erin Kellyman, the film tells the story of a 94-year-old woman in Florida who forms an unexpected bond with a 19-year-old student in New York City. The film received a rousing five-minute standing ovation following its premiere on Tuesday.
Johansson and Jost, 42, flew to France for the festival after appearing in the Saturday Night Live season 50 finale on Saturday, May 17. They made headlines when Jost presented his wife with a bouquet of flowers as she bid farewell to the audience.
Before Johansson began her speech, Jost stepped on stage with red roses and shared a passionate kiss with her. He then quickly exited, allowing her to conclude the show.
The couple ignited romance rumors in May 2017 after being seen kissing in a NYC bar. The following year, Jost confirmed their relationship during the SNL “Weekend Update” segment.
The pair announced their engagement in May 2019 and were married by October 2020. Johansson and Jost welcomed their first child, a son named Cosmo, in August 2021. (Johansson also has a daughter, Rose, 10, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.)
“He’s a wonderful guy … Truly, he is an incredible person. I feel very fortunate,” Johansson said of Jost during a November 2024 appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark. “He’s kind, funny, thoughtful, and an amazing dad, and I love him. I feel extremely lucky. But he also has his mischievous side, which keeps things interesting.”
Eleanor the Great is scheduled to be released in theaters later this year.
