RHONY Casting News: Andy Cohen Reveals 10 Potential Stars Have Interviewed
Andy Cohen is reassuring fans of The Real Housewives of New York City that the Bravo reality series is not canceled.
“I don’t know how else to explain it,” Cohen, 56, stated on the Tuesday, May 13 episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “We are currently between seasons for Housewives, but what’s interesting is that last week, Bravo executives met with 10 potential new Real Housewives of New York.”
In simpler terms, Cohen clarified that Bravo is in the “casting process between seasons,” noting that it’s “well underway.”
“That’s why nothing has been announced; I really don’t know what else to say,” he told cohost John Hill. “It’s quite unusual. It just keeps dragging on, so there you have it.”
On Friday, May 9, speculation about the future of The Real Housewives of New York City started circulating online. After one outlet reported that there were no “firm plans” for the show to continue, Bravo sought to clarify the situation.
“Nothing is official,” a Bravo spokesperson told Us Weekly on Friday. “The show hasn’t been canceled.”
Bravo’s response came days after announcing its new lineup of programming, which includes both returning series and fresh additions.
While The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Real Housewives of Potomac, and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City were officially renewed, The Real Housewives of New York City was notably absent.
“Final decisions haven’t been made, and they are exploring solutions,” one source exclusively shared with Us on Friday. “The network and producers have been discussing whether or not to bring it back.”
Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York City included Sai de Silva, Jenna Lyons, Erin Lichy, Ubah Hassan, Racquel Chevremont, Brynn Whitfield, and Jessel Taank. Rebecca Minkoff was a “friend” of the cast but has already announced she will not be returning to the show.
While it remains unclear who Bravo executives have been interviewing, Julia Fox has claimed that she was recently approached by the network for a role on the show.
“They definitely wanted me to be on RHONY,” she stated in a TikTok live captured by a fan site. “I did an interview for it and everything, but I eventually realized, ‘Honestly, I don’t think I can save that franchise.’ The women are incredible individually, but I just don’t see them fitting together. It might need a full reboot.”
The Real Housewives of New York City is now streaming on Peacock.
