Alyssa Milano Posts Makeup-Free Selfie to Celebrate Turning 52
Alyssa Milano is joyfully welcoming her new year.
“This is 52. No makeup. No filters. Happiness. Sprinkle that s—t everywhere,” Milano, 52, expressed on Instagram on Thursday, December 19. “I love you all. Even the trolls. If you can hate a stranger—I can love a stranger. So…I love you. 🥰.”
Along with her heartfelt message, Milano posted a selfie, relaxing back against a pillow with a gentle smile. “Edit: yes, my eyebrows are micro-bladed,” she added.
This isn’t the first instance of Milano showcasing her natural self on social media. Earlier, she celebrated her 51st birthday with a fresh-faced selfie and a heartfelt note to her followers. “Today is my birthday! #nomakeupselfie #nofilter #iwokeuplikethis,” she wrote on her Instagram at that time.
“While it’s my birthday today, rather than simply stating my age, I will now say I’ve reached ‘level 51,’” she wrote. “To unlock this level, I’ve discovered several cheat codes that have helped me navigate the challenges and triumphs along the way. The first cheat code is RESILIENCE. I have faced my share of heartache, anxiety, and depression, but I’ve managed to overcome them with LOVE.”
“Love for myself, which keeps me growing and searching, love for others that keeps me gentle and forgiving, and love for the world around me, which fills me with awe at its creations,” Milano continued. “Through this love, I have found the strength to keep pushing forward.”
Milano elaborated that another “cheat code” she’s embraced is gratitude. “I’ve learned to value the simple joys in life, like the beauty of birds soaring and the majesty of trees standing tall,” she shared. “I am thankful for the symbiotic bond between plants and humans, where my breath nourishes them, and their existence sustains me.”
Milano pointed out that gratitude has enabled her to “embrace the gift of curiosity, never ceasing to learn something new.”
“Primarily, I am thankful for the beating of my heart, which carries the blood of my ancestors and connects me to a rich lineage of significant triumph,” she shared.
The Charmed star emphasized that two more “cheat codes” are compassion and empathy.
“Although they can sometimes be difficult emotions to experience, they have shaped me into a kind and humble person committed to alleviating the suffering of humanity,” Milano wrote. “The desire to understand and share the feelings of others has allowed me to form deep connections and foster a sense of unity and community.”
Most importantly, Milano conveyed that the “most significant factor” as she enters this new age is the unconditional love from the people in her life.
“Their support, care, and acceptance have propelled my personal growth,” she shared. “Today, my heart is filled with gratitude for their presence.”
Milano concluded her message with a sense of accomplishment and thankfulness as she celebrates this milestone. “I embrace the challenges and joys ahead, knowing that I possess the cheat codes of resilience, gratitude, compassion, empathy, and the love of those around me to guide me through this journey of life.”
