Amanda Bynes Refutes Allegation About Dan Schneider Impregnating Her
Amanda Bynes is refuting the viral allegation that disgraced Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider got her pregnant when she was 13 years old.
The former child star, now 39, informed TMZ in a report published on Friday, November 21, that the rumor is unfounded and that the viral TikTok featuring her was digitally manipulated.
The now-removed video, originating from a fan account dedicated to Bynes, contained a clip of the All That alum with text reading, “The man I got pregnant with him [sic] at the age of 13! 😭” displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The post then shifted to a scene of a young, bikini-clad Bynes in a hot tub with a fully clothed Schneider, now 59, which also appeared in the 2024 documentary Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Kids TV. This excerpt was from the recurring sketch, Amanda’s Jacuzzi, featured in seasons 2 and 3 of The Amanda Show (1999-2002).
Though the video seems to suggest Bynes is making serious allegations against Schneider, she asserted that whoever created it edited various social media clips to fabricate “lies for click bait.”
She elaborated to TMZ that the initial clip in the video was taken from a recent Instagram Story she shared. In the original reel, she directed the camera towards her boyfriend, whereas the edited TikTok abruptly transitioned to the jacuzzi scene.
Us Weekly has reached out to Schneider for his comments.
In May 2024, Schneider initiated legal action against the producers of Quiet On Set for defamation, claiming that the Investigation Discovery docuseries falsely depicted him as a child sex abuser. Schneider, who was behind some of Nickelodeon’s most beloved series including All That, Drake & Josh, Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, Victorious, Zoey 101, and iCarly, found himself at the center of the intense documentary that revealed numerous allegations of misconduct at the network.
A spokesperson for Schneider issued a statement prior to the release of Quiet on Set, stating, “Dan cared about the kids on his shows even when sometimes their own families unfortunately did not. He understood what they were enduring and was their greatest advocate. The truth is, many of the children on these programs are thrust into the challenging role of becoming the primary income source for their families, and the pressure that accompanies this is immense.”
The statement continued: “Moreover, the struggle of growing up in the spotlight while managing a demanding career, all as a child, is daunting. That’s why there are various layers of standards, executives, lawyers, teachers, and parents present on sets every day. Nevertheless, it remains a tough environment for kids, and no one understood that better than Dan.”
For her part, Bynes has stayed away from Hollywood since 2012 following a series of arrests that resulted in her being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold. She completed rehab five months later, in December 2013.
Bynes opened up about her battles with drugs, depression, and other issues during a November 2018 interview for Paper magazine’s cover story.
She again sought assistance for her mental health in early 2019 and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising that June. Bynes’ lawyer, David Esquibias, confirmed to Us in 2020 that the actress was receiving professional support for her “ongoing mental health issues.”
Bynes provided a mental health update on her Instagram Story in March 2024, stating that despite struggling with depression for several months, she was “doing a lot better now.” In June 2025, she shared her weight loss journey involving Ozempic.
“Oh, I’m going on Ozempic. So excited. I’m 173 now so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome so I look better in paparazzi pictures,” she mentioned in her Instagram Story.
