Amanda Seyfried Opens Up About Botox and Future Plastic Surgery Plans
Amanda Seyfried proudly embraces her Botox use.
Seyfried, 40, recently discussed her cosmetic choices in a new Who What Wore cover story released on Wednesday, December 10. “I have a fantastic dermatologist who has assured me that she’ll only apply Botox in the same spot for the rest of my life,” the actress shared, directing attention to a location on her forehead.
In her conversation with WWD, Seyfried revealed that she uses CBD oil, known to reduce redness and irritation while hydrating and supporting skin’s barrier, along with ILP laser treatments that enhance fine lines and address sun damage. Additionally, she stated there are no plans for any surgical cosmetic procedures at this time.
“I recognize that aging brings its challenges, but I feel well-prepared thanks to the work I’ve put in during my 30s,” Seyfried reflected on her views about aging. “I’ve participated in couples therapy, solo therapy, and have had extensive discussions with psychologists and friends who are psychologists. I believe I’ve gained a wealth of self-awareness. It isn’t everything, but it certainly helps a lot.”
The Housemaid actress previously shared her experiences with cosmetic enhancements while participating in a “Truth Serum” game for Allure’s YouTube channel alongside her costar Sydney Sweeney last week.
During the interview, Seyfried and Sweeney, 28, were asked if there were any lingering beauty misconceptions they wished to “debunk now.”
“Let’s debunk them all,” Sweeney insisted. “I mean, I have never had work done.” She added, “I’m really scared of needles, you can’t even imagine.”
Seyfried then advised Sweeney that overcoming her needle phobia might be beneficial down the line. “But it’s highly effective as you age,” she noted. “Trust me on this.” Sweeney reiterated her fear of needles.
Sweeney then addressed the camera, saying, “You cannot compare a picture of me at 12 to one at 26 taken with professional makeup and lighting.”
“Of course, I look different! Social media can be so misleading,” the Euphoria star added.
Seyfried then urged Sweeney to reach out “when” she decides to explore cosmetic enhancements. “When you do, just call me. I’ll give you a little Ativan, and you’ll feel so much better,” she said, explaining that the medication can help calm nerves. “But you don’t need it yet.”
Sweeney pointed out that if she were to undergo any procedures, her face would look “even.” She elaborated, “I had a wakeboarding accident when I was younger that left me with 19 stitches, so one eye pulls just a bit differently.”
Seyfried then mentioned that there’s an “art” to injectable treatments, adding, “You can’t just place it everywhere like many people do.”
