Amy Schumer Shows Off Trim Figure After Endorsing GLP-1
Amy Schumer is turning a regular staircase into her own personal runway while showcasing her body transformation.
In a collection of photos shared on Instagram on Saturday, November 29, Schumer, 44, posed elegantly on a staircase in a yellow minidress adorned with bows and ruffles at the hem. She completed her ensemble with stylish black sling-back heels.
In one of the images, her son, Gene David, who she shares with husband Chris Fischer, playfully photo-bombed her. (The couple welcomed their son in 2019, just a year after their marriage.)
“Trying to head to the party but someone won’t go to sleep @gitabass taking pics and painting me with @tousledbyjae dress by @maisonvalentino thanks @luxury_checkins for the flawless skin by @georgialouisesk,” Schumer captioned the post.
Schumer has been open about her journey with various weight-loss medications, particularly discussing Mounjaro—a GLP-1 medication akin to Ozempic. Designed for diabetes management, Mounjaro may come with side effects like nausea and diarrhea, according to WebMD.
“Three years ago, I tried Wegovy,” she shared in an Instagram video. “I was nauseous, unable to cope with it. I’m not sure if the formula has changed, but anyway, I attended a Telehealth meeting with Midi Health because it was affordable. I wanted to test it out myself to potentially recommend it to friends in nursing and teaching professions.”
Midi Health is a virtual care clinic focused on menopause and perimenopause treatments, as stated on their official website.
“They prescribed estrogen and progesterone after I discovered I was in perimenopause, and my symptoms have vanished,” she added. “My hair is thicker, my skin has improved, I have more energy, and I’m feeling frisky. Yes, I’m referring to sex. So, it’s been wonderful, and Mounjaro has also been beneficial.”
She mentioned that Mounjaro is “not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or severe obesity, which many online seem to think applies to me.”
“I’m genuinely having a positive experience with it and wanted to be upfront about that,” she concluded. “Midi Health has been so impactful for me that I even invested in the company.”
Schumer has since removed older photos of herself prior to her weight loss from her social media. In an Instagram post early this month, she addressed the “narrative” regarding her decision, clarifying that she hadn’t deleted her old pictures solely because they were taken before her weight loss.
“I’m proud of how I’ve always looked. My focus has been on achieving a pain-free life, and I finally am,” Schumer reflected. “My endometriosis symptoms have improved, my back is healing, and I no longer have Cushing syndrome, so my face has returned to normal. I am thankful to be strong and healthy, especially for my son.”
Schumer emphasized that “your Instagram doesn’t define you,” but is rather “a collection of what you want the world to see,” adding that she enjoys sharing her empowering moments when she feels “strong and beautiful” with her fans.
“I didn’t intentionally embark on a ‘weight loss journey,’ although that’s a valid pursuit. My focus has truly been on health,” she clarified. “I understand my weight may always fluctuate. I’m a perimenopausal woman on hormone replacement therapy. Wishing you strength and self-love on whatever path you choose, as long as it’s kind and respectful to everyone, regardless of their weight, race, or religion. Peace!”
