And Just Like That Finale: Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis Share Their Thoughts
Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have finally spoken out regarding the conclusion of And Just Like That after three seasons.
“I can hardly believe that our wild and beautiful journey with And Just Like That is nearing its end. It has been an absolute joy from beginning to end,” Nixon, 59, shared on Instagram on Friday, August 1. She included a photo featuring herself, Davis, 60, and Sarah Jessica Parker. “I will deeply miss collaborating with these incredible individuals every day, but I know we will always remain part of one another’s lives.”
Nixon hinted at more photo shares on her social media as the Sex and the City revival wraps up later this month.
“Brace yourselves for a lot more carousels in the coming weeks! Don’t miss these final episodes: there are surprises ahead! 🫢,” she finished.
Davis, meanwhile, also took to social media to express her feelings about the show’s conclusion.
“I am deeply saddened,” the actress remarked in her Instagram Story, alongside HBO Max’s official announcement about the end of And Just Like That. “I adore our entire beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans poured their hearts into our show.”
Davis also conveyed her appreciation for the dedicated fans who have supported them throughout.
“And to our loyal fans, we cherish you endlessly,” she added.
Davis also reshared Nixon’s post, expressing her “love” for both Nixon and Parker.
Nixon, Davis, and Parker, 60, starred in Sex and the City alongside Kim Cattrall from 1998 to 2004. The series showcased Carrie Bradshaw (Parker) and her dating adventures as she navigated life in New York City with her friends Charlotte (Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Nixon), and Samantha (Cattrall). Following the show’s success, two Sex and the City films were released before HBO Max revived the series in December 2021. (Cattrall did not reprise her role for And Just Like That, aside from a brief cameo.)
And Just Like That showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed on Friday that the series will not return following the season 3 two-part finale.
“And just like that … the ongoing storytelling of the Sex And The City universe is coming to a close. While writing the last episode of And Just Like That season three, it became clear to me that this could be a fitting place to pause,” his statement read. “Together with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to conclude the beloved series this year with a two-part finale and expanded the original order from 10 episodes to 12.”
After the announcement, Parker shared a tribute to her character, whom she has portrayed for nearly three decades.
“Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte, there will never be better friends, and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, two exquisite new connections. Carrie Bradshaw has been the heartbeat of my professional journey for 27 years. I believe I have loved her most of all,” she wrote on Instagram. “I know others have cherished her just as much. They’ve felt frustration, condemnation, and support for her. The symphony of these emotions has been the most extraordinary soundtrack and a significant companion. Therefore, my deepest gratitude and a lifetime of appreciation go to you all.”
