Andy Cohen Shares His Thoughts on Lisa Vanderpump’s RHOBH Comeback Speculations
Andy Cohen has maintained his admiration for Lisa Vanderpump, yet it doesn’t imply that the original star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will make a comeback to the show.
During an episode of his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live on Tuesday, January 21, Cohen, 56, stated, “It was rumored all over that I was attempting to bring Lisa Vanderpump back on The [Real] Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
As an executive producer of RHOBH, Cohen refuted the speculation, asserting that Vanderpump, aged 64, likely has more important pursuits than rejoining the franchise.
“I want to reiterate my deep affection for Lisa Vanderpump, but I have no idea where this rumor originated,” he explained to his audience. “I don’t envision her returning to that series.”
Cohen’s co-host John Hill concurred, saying, “I’m puzzled as to why this is even a rumor. She doesn’t need to return.”
Hill remarked that the series based in Los Angeles doesn’t “require” Vanderpump’s presence, stating, “She has her own successful ventures.”
Cohen suggested that the present cast may not be compatible with Vanderpump’s vibe. “She and Dorit [Kemsley] and Kyle [Richards] are, well, I guess she’s somewhat friendly with Garcelle [Beauvais],” he concluded.
Cohen expressed his belief that Vanderpump does not “have any inclination” to engage with the stars of RHOBH, nor do they “wish to interact” with her.
Vanderpump was among the original cast members when RHOBH debuted in 2010, alongside Kyle, 56, her sister Kim Richards, Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer, and Adrienne Maloof.
She remained a prominent figure on the series for nine seasons before leaving in 2019, with her contentious relationship with Kyle being a focal point. (Kyle continues to appear on RHOBH, while Vanderpump has participated in various spinoffs including Vanderpump Rules, Vanderpump Villa, and more.)
During her last season on RHOBH, Vanderpump encountered conflicts with multiple cast members. At one point, she faced allegations of coercing her Vanderpump Dog employees into discussing Kemsley’s adopted dog Lucy’s unfortunate situation at a kill shelter.
Initially, Kyle maintained a neutral stance but later questioned whether Vanderpump had leaked the story to the media, culminating in Kyle being evicted from her home.
While the infamous “PuppyGate” scandal fractured their friendship, Cohen mentioned that Kyle and Vanderpump share a playful banter whenever they come across each other.
“I love that once a year, Kyle seems to run into Vanderpump, and they jokingly exchange their bill or drink tab,” Cohen shared on Tuesday. “I think Vanderpump either covered Kyle’s bill or sent her the invoice for it.”
The producer acknowledged that he “might be misremembering that story,” but he believes that the former friends have a unique way of interacting when they meet.
“Their encounters are always amusing,” Cohen remarked. “It appears that whenever they cross paths publicly, there’s a bit of playful teasing, which I find delightful.”
