Andy Cohen is standing by his choice to inquire about the supposed or rumored plastic surgery of Real Housewives stars.
“‘What work have you done?’ consistently ranks as a top viewer question every season across all franchises,” Cohen, 56, stated on X on Wednesday, January 29. “The Housewives have openly shared their beauty routines since the beginning; it’s an integral aspect of the series’ DNA.”
This clarification followed a fan’s inquiry regarding Cohen’s comments on physical appearances during reunion shows.
“@Andy, the millions of women who watch these franchises are exhausted by your question about ‘what work they had done,’” one user posted on X on Wednesday. “It’s not 2009 anymore; women can choose what they do with their bodies and faces. It’s time to retire this question. It’s disrespectful and adds nothing for the viewers #RHONY.”
As the season 15 cast of The Real Housewives of New York City began their two-part reunion on Tuesday, January 28, Cohen complimented Jessel Taank on her new “airbrushed” look.
“I must say, you’ve really glowed up since last season,” Cohen remarked. “You resemble an airbrushed version of yourself. What’s your secret?”
Initially, Taank, 45, seemed hesitant to respond, jokingly asking, “Was I hideous before?”
“I don’t know,” she continued. “I think I cut my hair and lost a bit of weight.”
After a few more inquiries, Taank provided more details regarding her recent beauty enhancements.
“I do Botox and filler,” she confessed. “That’s something I’ve always done, alright? Plus, I take good care of my skin, drink plenty of water, and I’ve shed some pounds.”
When Cohen noted that her teeth “also look different,” Taank confirmed that she has veneers.
“They look fantastic,” her castmates Erin Lichy and Sai De Silva chimed in almost in unison during the discussion.
Cohen has also been candid about his own experiences with plastic surgery — or rather, the absence of it. During a November 2024 appearance on the “How to Fail” podcast, the best-selling author discussed whether he has undergone Botox.
“I haven’t done anything,” Cohen revealed. “Joan Rivers, before she passed away, urged me to try Botox, and every guy I know in television, particularly those who are younger or around my age, has had Botox. I look at their foreheads and think, ‘Your forehead doesn’t budge.’ Can you believe it? The gay guy is the one who hasn’t had Botox!”
The Real Housewives of New York City reunion continues on Bravo Tuesday, February 4, at 9 p.m. ET. You can stream previous episodes anytime on Peacock.
