Andy Cohen’s Son Wishes for Police Drone This Christmas: ‘Keeping Up with the News?’
Andy Cohen’s 5-year-old son Ben has quite the impressive holiday wish list.
“He had me assist him in writing a letter to Santa, and he mentioned wanting a police drone for himself, which is quite relevant,” Cohen, 56, shared exclusively with Us Weekly while promoting his collaboration with Fresca Mixed. “A Lego police drone that actually flies. I thought, ‘I’m not sure that exists, but okay.’ It is certainly timely.”
Cohen humorously added, “I’m like, ‘What have you been watching on the news?’” (The television host was alluding to the recent news of drones being spotted over New Jersey.)
Ben was also keen on ensuring that Santa doesn’t forget his 2-year-old sister, Lucy.
“He requested bath toys for Lucy and wants a kit of Valentine’s cards to make cards for me because he loves me,” Cohen revealed. “I was truly taken aback.”
While Cohen’s holiday focuses primarily on his children since becoming a dad, the Watch What Happens Live host still manages to enjoy some adult festivities — especially when co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with friend Anderson Cooper.
“I invite a couple of producers from Watch What Happens Live to join us because we are the fun crew,” Cohen stated to Us. “Anderson brings in the fun. CNN focuses on the news. He infuses the fun from my group, which is fantastic.”
For the live show, Cohen mentioned that he and Cooper, 57, “plan a lot of fun games” leading up to midnight.
“A couple of years back, around 11:45, they told us, ‘Oh, you’ve got 15 minutes to midnight,’ and we had no guests,” Cohen recalled. “I remember talking, and at one point, my mind started to wander.”
This year, however, they are ready.
“We have plenty of exciting guests,” he teased. “There are many fun surprises, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Despite the potential mishaps that can occur during a live show, Cohen expressed that he has learned “to have fun” during the broadcast. “Last year, Anderson and I had the most fun we ever had. It was amazing.”
Those who are familiar with Cohen and Cooper’s New Year’s Eve broadcasts know that the drinks are always flowing. Cohen — as one would expect — takes charge of the refreshments.
“I literally bring a duffle bag filled with a few bottles of tequila. Some Fresca mix for myself during the hour. The tequila is for shots, and I also bring shot glasses and ice,” he detailed. “I take care of all of this myself. I go to the bodega to pick it up.”
As he gears up for 2025, Fresca Mixed is at the forefront of Cohen’s mind, as he collaborated with the brand to help celebrate the new year in style.
