Apple Martin Dons Gwyneth Paltrow’s Iconic 1996 Calvin Klein Dress in NYC
Apple Martin showcased her favorite item she loves to borrow from Gwyneth Paltrow’s wardrobe.
Apple, 21, the daughter of Paltrow, 53, and her former husband, Chris Martin, turned heads in a vintage Calvin Klein dress from her mother’s collection at the Marty Supreme premiere in New York City on Tuesday, December 16.
The chic outfit boasted a deep scoop neckline, slender halter straps that crisscrossed her back, and a body-hugging fit.
To elevate her look, Apple added diamond stud earrings. Her makeup was understated with a dewy finish, radiant skin, and subtle blush. Complementing her features were delicate pearly eyeshadow, black eyeliner, well-groomed brows, and softly lined pink lips. Her blonde hair was elegantly styled in an updo with a side parting.
On the red carpet, Apple posed alongside her mother and brother Moses, 19. Paltrow looked stunning in a classy black dress featuring a velvet top and a thigh-high split, accentuating her look with a vibrant red lip. Her makeup included long lashes and bronzed cheeks, while her blonde hair was styled into a low ponytail with face-framing strands left out.
Moses also made a stylish appearance in a gray blazer, paired with a blue-and-white gingham dress shirt and a striped tie, finishing off his look with white trousers.
When Paltrow wore her sleek Klein dress back in 1996, she opted for minimal jewelry, just like Apple, with diamond stud earrings as the only accessory. Unlike Apple’s soft glam, Paltrow had a trendy look with thin brows, smokey eyeshadow, and dark red lips, her hair also twisted into an updo but with purposeful strands left down.
In April, Apple shared her favorite items to borrow from her mom’s closet with Interview Magazine.
“My absolute favorite items are her vintage Calvin Klein from the ’90s,” Apple expressed. “I own quite a bit, and it’s the best thing ever. Stepping into her archive closet feels like pure bliss.”
Apple mentioned her mom is always willing to lend her clothes. “She encourages me to take things because she kept them all for me to borrow,” she shared.
As for her own style, Apple is still exploring her fashion identity. “I feel like I haven’t completely found my style yet, but I am gradually getting into it,” she noted. “Honestly, the Interview shoot made me realize, ‘Oh my God, I need to start having more fun with fashion and not be afraid.’” During the photoshoot, Apple sported pleated mini skirts, black sweaters, cropped button-downs, form-fitting dresses, fuzzy jackets, and other trendy pieces.
