Arie Luyendyk Jr. Schedules Another Vasectomy After Welcoming Baby No. 4
Former Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. is being cautious after his wife Lauren Luyendyk gave birth to their fourth child.
“Making THAT call for the third time … Need a punch card,” Arie, 44, posted on Instagram on Saturday, December 7, sharing a video of him calling the doctor’s office to book an appointment.
“Hello, it’s me,” he said to the receptionist. “I’d like to schedule another vasectomy. Snip snap, snip snap.”
Arie chuckled as he remarked on the “long awkward pause” on the other end of the line. At the end of the clip, Arie declared, “Sounds good,” and gave a thumbs up to the camera while syncing it with Adele’s “Hello.”
“She’s probably heard it a thousand times lol,” he captioned the post.
His post comes just under three months after he and Lauren, 34, welcomed their daughter Livvy. The couple announced her arrival via Instagram in September, saying, “Welcome to the world livvy rowe luyendyk.🪽9/18/25. Love you our sweet little angel girl!”
Arie and Lauren met during The Bachelor season 22, where he got engaged to Becca Kufrin but later broke off the engagement to pursue Lauren, proposing in 2018. They married in Hawaii in January 2019 and are parents to daughter Alessi, as well as twins Lux and Senna, born in May 2019 and June 2021, respectively.
In February, Arie revealed that he underwent a vasectomy reversal, hoping to expand their family further.
“We said we were done having kids, like, a couple years ago, but I think we’re gonna do it one more time,” Lauren reiterated in a YouTube video at the time. “That sounded funny; we’re only going to do it one time.”
Arie explained that he rushed into having a vasectomy in 2022, shortly after the twins were born, admitting that managing Senna and Lux was “hard at first.” Lauren added that he scheduled the procedure without consulting her.
“He was like, ‘OK, it’s happening. We gotta do this,’” she recalled. “And we did. I got on board.”
After the reversal, Arie expressed that he was “totally” ready to add another member to their family. “If we had a singleton, we could totally manage that,” he commented.
Lauren, however, had some reservations about trying for baby No. 4.
“He totally convinced me that chapter’s closed and I came to terms with that,” she said. “Now, I have to just get out of that again. So I’m getting there while Arie is totally on board. … But yeah, we’re going to do it again.”
When Arie and Lauren revealed they were expecting their fourth child, they confirmed in a YouTube video uploaded that day that the vasectomy reversal had occurred in summer 2024, though they chose to keep the news private until earlier this year.
“A lot has happened since then,” Arie noted, while Lauren explained that they tried to conceive but she experienced a chemical pregnancy. Despite the challenges, Lauren shared that they were “super excited” for “our last baby.”
