Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum Co-Parent During Family Vacation in Hawaii

Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum have mastered the art of coparenting.

On Sunday, June 8, Rosenbaum, 48, posted an Instagram Story during a vacation in Oahu, Hawaii, with his and Hebert’s two children, Fordham, 10, and Essex, 8, along with the former Bachelorette, 40.

“Divorcees that vacation together…” he captioned a short video clip.

Rosenbaum shared several more Instagram Stories featuring him and his kids in Hawaii, including one photo of him and Fordham together at sunrise.

The Bachelor franchise managed to go nearly 20 years before witnessing its first official divorce. While many couples from The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise continue to thrive, the majority of duos formed on these reality shows end up parting ways before actually tying the knot. The former couple, who married in 2012 after getting engaged on The Bachelorette in 2011, announced in October 2020 that they had decided to split after almost eight years of marriage.

“It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that, after months of separation, J.P. and I have amicably decided to go our separate ways,” Hebert wrote via Instagram at the time. “We created the most beautiful children and shared memories that will never be forgotten. Our differences have taken a toll on our relationship and after years of trying to fix what’s broken, we’ve concluded that it is in our family’s best interest to forge new and separate paths for our children.”

Hebert requested her followers to “respect [their] privacy” as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.

“Our ultimate goal is to create stable and healthy lives for our children,” she added. “Thank you for your love and support over the years. Wishing you all love, happiness, and good health.”

Rosenbaum echoed similar sentiments in his post, mentioning that “there is no one to blame” and “no single event that led to this decision.”

“We’ve done everything we possibly could to try to salvage this marriage,” he clarified via Instagram. “I think we both realize we’re just two very different people, with distinct personalities and perspectives, who don’t align on many fundamental aspects of life, which are crucial for a happy and healthy marriage.”

The real estate developer emphasized that their primary focus is on coparenting their children and expressed gratitude for all the “love and support” they’ve received over the years.

While the pair have openly discussed their commitment to being good coparents, Rosenbaum previously mentioned that they are “not friends.”

“Amicable? Yes. But we’re not friends,” he stated on the “She’s All Bach” podcast in August 2022. “We only communicate about the kids when necessary.”

Not every couple escapes the reality TV curse, especially within Bachelor Nation. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that the franchise remains one of the most popular reality shows on television.

The same month they finalized their divorce in October 2021, Hebert announced she was dating Yanni Georgoulakis. Meanwhile, Rosenbaum has also continued to date but mentioned that it has been “challenging.”

“It’s odd. Dating in my mid-forties as a divorced father of two is vastly different from being single in my early thirties,” he revealed to Us Weekly in April 2022. “And especially with all the dating apps now, it’s a strange experience. I would much prefer for it to occur naturally through friends, but that’s not the current reality.”
