Ashley Tisdale Reveals Her Daughter Mistook Zac Efron for Her Father
Ashley Tisdale’s little girl is a fan of Troy Bolton.
During her appearance on the “Breaking Beauty” podcast, Tisdale shared that her 3-year-old daughter, Jupiter, whom she has with husband Christopher French, recently watched High School Musical for the first time.
“She saw High School Musical about a year ago, I think, when my husband introduced it to her,” Tisdale mentioned on the January 15 episode. “I was like, ‘What are you doing?’”
Tisdale also noted that the film left Jupiter somewhat puzzled.
“She thought Zac Efron was her dad,” Tisdale shared.
“She’s like, ‘Daddy!’ and I’m like, ‘No, no, no.’ Just because they both have dark hair doesn’t mean that’s Daddy,” Tisdale explained.
Unlike many kids who are indifferent about their parents’ careers, Tisdale mentioned that her daughter enjoys watching her on screen.
Jupiter, who also knows about her mom’s role in Phineas and Ferb, was overjoyed to see a livestream of the premiere for Wicked and watch her mom on the red carpet.
“She’s like, ‘I gotta see Mommy on the carpet, I gotta see Mommy on the carpet,’” Ashley shared. “The most exciting thing for her is seeing me at the Wicked premiere, which I have nothing to do with. It’s so amusing. She’s just so proud to see me there. It’s really adorable.”
Though Tisdale believes her daughter may not fully understand her career, she’s starting to wonder why strangers want to take pictures with her mom.
However, the actress confessed she’s not yet ready to explain that to Jupiter. “She has such a normal life. Her little world is so cute and fun,” Tisdale said.
Tisdale, who welcomed her second child in September 2024, also discussed Emerson’s birth and how she did not experience postpartum depression this time, unlike after Jupiter’s birth.
“I’m so thankful to experience it this way without postpartum depression,” Tisdale said on the podcast, “because I felt so detached a lot of the time with Jupiter when she was younger.”
Tisdale mentions that she continues to use meditation to help her stay centered throughout the day.
Regarding a potential return to acting, Tisdale expressed that she has loved it since she was three years old. “I will always cherish acting and will look for a project that I’m passionate about. I’m sure that opportunity will come when I feel like I need to do it,” Tisdale said, “but for now, I love what I’m doing with my Frenshe brand.”
