Bad Bunny’s Latest Track: Could It Be About Anyone, Even Kendall Jenner?

Bad Bunny revealed that the tracks on his newest album aren’t necessarily about specific individuals he’s been involved with — though they might be.

“I have crafted songs that draw inspiration from people who remain unknown to the public,” Bad Bunny (whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), 30, stated in an interview with Time that was published on Sunday, January 5. “The interpretation of the song can encompass various themes, such as the absence of someone no longer present in your life, or love. But it can also represent many other feelings that have faded away.”

Specifically, the album’s title track, “DtMF”, addresses sentiments of regret regarding a relationship while attempting to come to terms with its conclusion. (The name of Bad Bunny’s latest album, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, means I Should Have Taken More Photos.) Many fans of the Puerto Rican artist speculate that this breakup song alludes to his recent ex, model and reality star Kendall Jenner.

Bad Bunny and Jenner, 28, were first rumored to be dating in February 2023 when they were seen on a date in Beverly Hills. The couple later made an appearance together at the Met Gala in May of that same year. They kept their romance relatively private until their breakup in December 2023, after dating for less than a year.

“I know something is going to get out,” he remarked to Rolling Stone at that time. “I know [people are] going to say something. People know everything about me, so what else is there for me to shield? My private life, my personal life.”

Although the couple later enjoyed a cozy date night in Paris in June 2024, a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly in September that Jenner “decided she wanted space,” and the two were no longer together.

“They’re still on friendly terms but have taken a step back from dating,” the source told Us at the time.
