Ben Savage and Wife Tessa Angermeier Are Expecting Their First Child

Boy Meets World star Ben Savage is set to become a father!

The actor-turned-politician excitedly announced via Instagram on Tuesday, May 20, that he and his wife, Tessa Angermeier, are expecting their first child.

“Arriving this fall,” Savage, 44, captioned a couple of photos showcasing the delighted couple holding an ultrasound image of their little one.

Savage’s former Boy Meets World co-star Maitlin Ward, 48, was quick to offer her congratulations in the comments. “🎉❤️ Congratulations both of you!” she wrote on Savage’s post.

“What?? Congratulations!! ❤️❤️❤️,” added actress Danica McKellar, who starred alongside Savage’s brother, Fred Savage, on the series The Wonder Years.

Savage and Angermeier tied the knot in February 2023 after dating for several years.

“Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Savage, we couldn’t be happier for you ‘guuuyyyss’ 🤍👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️🥂,” an attendee captioned a selection of photos featuring the joyful couple, including a shot of Savage in a tuxedo and Angermeier in a white gown, adorned with floral decorations.

Last year, Savage’s attempt to run for Congress as a Democrat in California’s 30th congressional district ended in a primary loss to fellow Democrat Laura Friedman.

Savage rose to fame as Cory Matthews on the popular ABC sitcom Boy Meets World, which aired from 1993 to 2000. He reprised this role in the Disney Channel spinoff, Girl Meets World, which ran from 2014 to 2017.

In 2022, Savage expressed to Us Weekly his openness to another Boy Meets World reboot if one were to happen.

“I’ve learned enough to know you never know what can happen in this industry,” he shared. “Every day is an adventure, so I say never say never.”

Although he is open to reprising his role as Cory, Savage chose not to join the rewatch podcast “Pod Meets World,” which his former co-stars — Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle — launched in June 2022.

Fishel, who portrayed Savage’s love interest Topanga on the feel-good sitcom, mentioned to Us in July 2022 that Savage was initially involved in the podcast project.

“We’ve been discussing this podcast since 2019; it was Rider’s concept. When he suggested it, we all shared our thoughts,” she recalled. “In the end, Ben said, ‘I just don’t think it’s for me.’ We completely understand, and we respect his choice. If he decides to join later, the door is always open for him.”
