Benjamin Hollingsworth of Virgin River Discusses Brady’s Accident
Virgin River‘s Benjamin Hollingsworth has shared his thoughts after the show put Brady through another tough situation with a near-fatal accident in season 7.
The latest episodes dropped on Thursday, March 12, where Brady finally mended fences with Brie (Zibby Allen) — but their bliss was short-lived. While riding his motorcycle, Brady crashed after failing to see a construction truck ahead.
“That pretty much sums up Brady’s luck,” Hollingsworth, 41, joked in an exclusive chat with Us Weekly. “Looks like nice things just aren’t in Brady’s cards.”
Hollingsworth suggested that “things won’t be easy” when Netflix’s longest-running scripted series returns for season 8, adding, “But it’s a relief to see [Brady and Brie] together.”
While fans are hopeful that Brady will make it through, Hollingsworth hinted that viewers shouldn’t “count on anything” regarding his character’s future.
“I definitely can’t give anything away. The audience will have to wait another year to see what happens,” Hollingsworth shared with Us, confirming he’s aware of Brady’s fate.
He added: “I’d love for Brady to stick around. That would be great. I really hope he doesn’t die—especially since he just got what he’s always wanted.”
Based on Robyn Carr‘s book series, Virgin River, which premiered in 2019, follows the lives of the small-town residents in Northern California. Although Brady quickly captured the audience’s hearts, he hasn’t experienced much luck in either his career or personal life on the show.
For his part, Hollingsworth enjoys discovering where the storyline takes Brady each season. He told Us that he relishes starring in romantic narratives but is open to all kinds of roles.
“[Romance projects are] something that comes my way often. I receive a lot of offers for those, but it’s tricky since I want to maintain a balance,” he explained. “I’m a trained actor; I spent three years studying acting at a conservatory from ages 19 to 21. I’ve got a really diverse theatrical background, and I enjoy pushing my boundaries. I’ve had some opportunities to do that, and I want to keep it up.”
He continued: “Maybe I can work on something like Bridgerton. I’d love to tackle a period piece. I’m also drawn to action projects, and you can see a bit of that in Brady’s storyline on Virgin River. I enjoy performing my own stunts and collaborating with stunt doubles. So, it would be exciting to star in a buddy-cop action film, too. We’ll see.”
Virgin River is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
