Billy Ray Cyrus Responds to Us Weekly Cover Featuring His Romance with Elizabeth Hurley

Even the stars can’t help but admire the latest editions of Us Weekly— just ask Billy Ray Cyrus.

“Spotted this at Target 😍,” Cyrus, 63, shared on Instagram on Sunday, May 18, posting a picture of the Us cover that highlights his new relationship with Elizabeth Hurley at a store in Franklin, Tennessee.

Cyrus also tagged Hurley, 59, in the magazine image. The cover story, released earlier this month, explored the beginnings of the couple’s surprising and now public romance.

The “Achy Breaky Heart” artist and Hurley confirmed their relationship on Easter Sunday by sharing a publicly affectionate photo on Instagram.

“We did a film together two years ago in the Caribbean and had few scenes together, but during the couple of times we were on screen,” Cyrus reminisced on the April 24 episode of Apple Music’s Ty Bentli Show, referencing the 2022 film Christmas in Paradise. “There was a chemistry that I felt. We just laughed, and it came at a time when I wasn’t laughing much, and I discovered the most unexpected thing.”

However, after filming, Cyrus and Hurley lost touch.

“Then two more years passed, and there was this evolution that some might have viewed and I certainly felt like, ‘Wow, can life get any more challenging? Can it get any tougher for me?’” he continued. “At a certain point, it was like, ‘You can’t get knocked down any further than lying flat on your back while life is kicking you in the gut.’”

Eventually, Hurley reached out through text.

“I didn’t even recognize the number, and it was like, ‘Hey, it seems like life might be a bit tough and just wanted to let you know I’m in your corner. You have a friend in your corner,’” Cyrus recalled, praising the British actress as “a wonderful human being.”

He added, “She’s impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She’s a smart businesswoman. If you can share a laugh, you can get through anything together.”

A source further revealed to Us that Cyrus and Hurley “connected over shared life experiences” after they reconnected.

“They truly get each other, and Liz is incredibly compassionate, which Billy Ray adores,” the insider noted. “She has been spending time with him on his farm in Nashville, enjoying their laid-back, nature-loving lifestyle together. They are happy and have nothing to hide.”

Hurley seems to feel the same way, telling Page Six earlier this month that she and Cyrus are “actually quite alike and get along extremely well.”

“We both enjoy laughing a lot, love the countryside, and are fans of country music and movies. We have a lot in common—especially cowboy boots,” she exclaimed.

This marks Cyrus’ first relationship following his brief seven-month marriage to Firerose in 2023. He was previously married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991 and to Tish Cyrus from 1993 to 2022. Billy Ray and Tish, 57, share five children, and he also has a son, Christopher, with ex Kristin Luckey.

Meanwhile, Hurley was formerly married to businessman Arun Nayar from 2008 to 2009 and has had high-profile relationships with Hugh Grant and Shane Warne. She is also the mother of son Damian, 23, from her brief romance with late producer Stephen Bing.
