BIP Stars Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert Announce They’re Finished Expanding Their Family
Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert have decided they will not be adding to their family any further.
During an Instagram Q&A on Wednesday, February 19, when asked if the couple was “done having babies,” Roper, 38, confirmed, “We are done.”
“I still get baby fever quite often and probably will forever, but I can’t see us having one more,” she shared. “It’s time for Tanner to get the snip!”
Roper and Tolbert, 37, first crossed paths on Bachelor in Paradise season 2 in 2015. They married the following year and welcomed daughter Emmy and sons Brooks and Reed in 2017, 2019, and 2020, respectively.
The former Bachelor Nation participant disclosed in August 2020 that she experienced a miscarriage before conceiving Emmy and a chemical pregnancy before Brooks. In 2023, Roper endured a missed miscarriage with a son they intended to name Beau.
“Our sweet Beau was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and we believe his tiny heart wasn’t strong enough,” she explained during an Instagram Story Q&A in November 2023. “Many Down Syndrome diagnoses are linked with congenital heart conditions.”
While grieving the loss of Beau, the former Bachelor contestant revealed on Wednesday that she consulted a medium to connect with her unborn son.
“I did! It was a much more controversial topic among my followers than I expected. I received a lot of harsh comments, so I chose not to share the details of my meeting with the medium. What I can say is that it was beautiful … It was overwhelming for me at times, but overall I truly enjoyed it, and it provided me with some comforting thoughts about Beau and my miscarriage.”
As Roper and Tolbert navigate parenthood, she elaborated on balancing the needs of each child, admitting she often worries whether they all “feel loved enough/feel time is equally spent with each kid.”
“I once read that just 15 minutes a day of true quality one-on-one time with your child creates the security and bond they need to feel safe and connected to their parent/caretaker,” she shared via her Instagram Story in November in response to a question about focusing on each child. “Establishing a routine or ritual for that 15 minutes of quality time they can anticipate is crucial. Something as simple as reading books at bedtime and snuggling, discussing the day, can work wonders.”
