Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Make Appearance at SNL 50 Amid Justin Baldoni Lawsuit
Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, made an unexpected joint appearance at the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special amid their ongoing legal dispute.
Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48, walked the red carpet together in New York City on Sunday, February 16. While the Deadpool & Wolverine actor chose a classic Thom Sweeney suit, Lively wore a shimmering Tamara Ralph gown adorned with embroidered 3D flowers — possibly a nod to her latest film, It Ends With Us.
For her glamour, Lively styled her blonde hair in soft waves cascading over one shoulder and complemented her outfit with diamond drop earrings and matching rings.
The couple is currently involved in a lawsuit against Lively’s It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. Following their collaboration on the 2024 film, Lively named Baldoni in a sexual harassment lawsuit, claiming he created a “hostile work environment” and attempted to tarnish her reputation.
Baldoni has strongly denied the allegations, subsequently filing a $400 million defamation lawsuit against both Lively and Reynolds. He asserted that the Gossip Girl alum was intent on portraying him as the real-life villain in her narrative to distract from her so-called “tone-deaf” promotion of the film.
Baldoni further accused Lively of leveraging the launch of It Ends With Us, which addresses domestic violence, to market her alcohol and hair care lines. He criticized her team for using the tagline, “Grab your friends and your florals,” especially since Lively’s character, Lily Bloom, is a florist.
In response, Lively refuted the claims.
“This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is yet another chapter from the abuser playbook. It’s an age-old narrative: A woman brings forth undeniable evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation, and the perpetrator attempts to flip the script on the victim,” Lively’s legal team stated to Us last month. “This phenomenon is known as DARVO: Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. Wayfarer has chosen to utilize its billionaire co-founder’s resources to issue media statements, launch baseless lawsuits, and threaten litigation to cloud the public’s understanding of their actions, which amount to retaliation against the allegations of sexual harassment.”
A trial is set to commence in 2026. Earlier this month, both Lively and Baldoni’s teams declined mediation to settle the matter.
While Lively and Reynolds have stayed in NYC, Baldoni and his family have found refuge in Hawaii.
“We’re grateful to be with family and friends,” Baldoni shared with TMZ reporters in January. “We have amazing friends and family and faith.”
