Blake Lively is determined not to let her legal issues interfere with her support for her upcoming major project.

On Friday, March 7, the actress made an appearance at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, for the SXSW world premiere of Another Simple Favor.

Lively, 37, wore a stunning ’50s-inspired mauve dress with a full skirt as she celebrated the sequel to A Simple Favor alongside director Paul Feig and her fellow cast members, including Anna Kendrick, Bashir Salahuddin, Henry Golding, Michelle Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins. Kendrick walked the red carpet first, showcasing a black bustier by LaQuan Smith matched with elegant satin tuxedo pants. Feig showcased true Texan style with a cowboy hat and a western-inspired fringe jacket.

On February 26, Prime Video released the first trailer for Another Simple Favor. In the footage, the narrative follows Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) as she travels to the stunning island of Capri, Italy, to attend her friend Emily Nelson’s (Lively) extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman.

This film is Lively’s first release since her ongoing legal challenges with her former co-star and It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni.

The Gossip Girl graduate filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, 41, in December 2024, following reports of creative disputes during the making of the August 2024 adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us. She also accused Baldoni of attempting to tarnish her image.

Baldoni has denied Lively’s claims and subsequently filed his own lawsuit against her, her publicist, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, in January. He is pursuing $400 million in damages, alleging civil extortion, defamation, and violations of privacy, among other charges. Lively and Reynolds, aged 48, refute his allegations, and Lively’s publicist has requested to be dismissed from the lawsuit.
