Blue Bloods Cast Commemorates One Year Since Filming Heartfelt Series Finale
The Blue Bloods cast and crew are reflecting on their poignant final day of shooting the series finale.
Showrunner Kevin Wade shared a picture of the call sheet for the season 14 finale, titled “End of Tour,” in an Instagram post on Friday, June 20.
“A year ago today Blue Bloods concluded a remarkable journey after fourteen years,” his caption stated. “Cheers to the countless individuals who contributed and the millions who tuned in.”
Will Hochman, who portrayed Joe Hill on the police procedural, left several trophy emojis under the post to celebrate the occasion. The Blue Bloods series finale aired in December 2024, chronicling the Reagan family’s experiences as they balanced their lives in the NYPD and at home.
Donnie Wahlberg, who played Danny Reagan for 14 seasons, shared the photo on his Instagram Stories with the caption, “Last day of an era” accompanied by a blue heart emoji.
In addition, cast member Marisa Ramirez, known for her role as Maria Baez, remembered the last day of filming in her own Instagram post.
“Happy Friday! It has been one year since our Blue Bloods family had our last day of work together!” she wrote, sharing a photo in her character’s police uniform. “I miss you all, the best cast and crew in the business and the best fans in the world. I hope you all are happy and healthy! Love you!!”
The comments flooded with fans expressing how much they missed the show airing on CBS every Friday night.
“Miss you and Blue Bloods so much! You created such a legacy with all those great episodes!” remarked one fan.
“I miss seeing you on Blue Bloods! I hope to see you in something new soon!” added another.
“As a retired NYPD sergeant with 20 years on the force (and some time as a detective), I’ve seen it all. You portrayed exactly what my brothers and sisters in blue experience. Well done, Detective!” stated a third.
Abigail Hawk, who played Abigail Baker, expressed, “I miss you, my talented wonderful friend.”
The Blue Bloods series finale featured the tragic death of Officer Louis Badillo during an ambush and a heart-wrenching funeral scene involving the entire cast. While Blue Bloods concluded dramatically, a spinoff series titled Boston Blue is currently being developed at the network.
Wahlberg, 55, will return as Danny, relocating to Boston to join the Boston PD. Fans are eager to see if Ramirez, 47, will appear in the new series. Wahlberg hinted that characters from Blue Bloods might make appearances in the upcoming spinoff, which is set to air on CBS this fall.
“Now, it’s just Danny entering this new realm, but I can’t share too much — however, I can say that if he’s a Reagan, it will never be just Danny,” he mentioned in an April interview with Fox News Digital. “There’ll always be a Reagan a phone call away.”
He added, “And the traditions held by the Reagans? Danny would never forsake those.”
