Boxer Georgia O’Connor’s Husband Focuses on ‘Muscles’ Following Her Passing

Adriano Cardinali, the spouse of the late boxer Georgia O’Connor, is focusing on his mental and physical wellbeing following her passing.

“Currently working on three things: My life. My peace. My muscles,” Cardinali mentioned in an Instagram Story on Monday, May 26.

This post followed the announcement of O’Connor’s death on Thursday, May 22, just weeks after the couple married.

“We are devastated by the loss of Georgia O’Connor,” pro boxing promoter Boxxer stated to The Guardian. “A true fighter in and out of the ring, the boxing world has lost a talented, brave, and inspiring young woman far too early.”

Upon Georgia O’Connor’s tragic passing at the young age of 25, she was under two weeks after marrying her long-term partner, Adriano Cardinali. Cardinali supported O’Connor throughout her fight with a previously undisclosed type of cancer, which was diagnosed earlier this year. The statement went on to say, “Georgia was cherished, respected, and admired by her friends at Boxxer. Our thoughts are with her family during this challenging time.”

Earlier this year, O’Connor revealed her cancer diagnosis, claiming that doctors had dismissed her symptoms for months.

“Since early October, I have been in relentless pain, going back and forth between Durham and Newcastle RVI A&E while knowing something was significantly wrong,” O’Connor expressed via Instagram on January 31. “I suspected from the start it was cancer. I KNEW the risks. I have colitis and PSC, conditions that greatly increase the likelihood of getting it. I KNOW how high my risk is, and they were aware too. They always were.”

She elaborated, “But not a single doctor f***ing listened to me. Not one doctor took me seriously. Not one doctor conducted the scans or blood tests I pleaded for while crying in pain. They dismissed me, gaslighted me, and told me it was nothing. They made me feel like I was overreacting. They refused to investigate or listen. One even suggested it was ‘all in my head.’ Now? Now the cancer has spread.”

O’Connor and Cardinali, with Cardinali leaving his job to care for her post-diagnosis, married on May 9, which O’Connor announced on Instagram.

“The day I wed the love of my life. 🤍,” O’Connor said alongside a photo showcasing their wedding bands.
