Cassie Breaks Silence Following Testimony Against Diddy in Court

Cassie shared her heartfelt remarks regarding her testimony in the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs.

On Friday, May 16, outside the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City, Cassie’s lawyer Douglas Wigdor read a statement attributed to the singer, as reported by various outlets.

“This week has been incredibly difficult yet profoundly empowering and healing for me,” the statement said. “I hope that my testimony provides strength and a voice to other survivors, encouraging them to speak out and heal from abuse and fear.”

The statement further expressed, “As I heal, I find I can remember more; and the more I remember, the more I will never forget.”

Along with reflecting on her experience on the stand, Cassie (whose full name is Casandra Ventura) expressed gratitude to her family and supporters for helping her navigate this challenging period.

“I’m thankful for my family and advocates for their steadfast support, and I appreciate all the kindness and encouragement I have received,” the statement continued. “I am relieved to close this chapter of my life as I shift my focus to the conclusion of my pregnancy. I kindly ask for privacy for myself and my growing family.”

Diddy, 55, was arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation for the purpose of engaging in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and denies all allegations against him.

Cassie, 38, began her testimony on Tuesday, May 13, and concluded on Friday, recounting her experiences for nearly 20 hours over four days. She addressed the dynamic of her relationship with Diddy, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship from 2007 to 2018, and discussed his alleged “freak off” parties.

While addressing the court, Cassie candidly spoke about the alleged abuse she endured while with Diddy. In addition to participating in Diddy’s “freak offs,” she claimed that the music mogul raped her. The singer also revealed contemplating walking into traffic years later due to the trauma she experienced.

Diddy’s arrest occurred almost one year after Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse throughout their relationship. Diddy has denied her allegations in a statement from his attorney.

“Mr. Combs categorically denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” stated Diddy’s lawyer, Ben Brafman, in November 2023.

Just a day after the lawsuit was filed, Diddy and Cassie reached an out-of-court settlement. Earlier this week, she testified that the settlement amounted to $20 million.
