Cassie Ventura Returns Following Diddy Trial and Welcomes Third Baby
Cassie has made a return to social media after the highly publicized trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs earlier this year.
Since her testimony during the music mogul’s trial in May, Cassie, 38, has welcomed her third child with husband Alex Fine and has mostly remained out of the public eye in the ensuing months.
On Thursday, August 7, the singer shared her first post since the trial via Instagram, touching on the challenges of being a new mother once again.
Cassie shared a meme video from the @momswithplans account, depicting a man intermittently taking breaks from dancing. The caption read, “When your old self slowly starts coming out postpartum.”
In her repost of the clip, Cassie provided her own commentary, saying, “Factual. Little by little. Lol.”
Less than two weeks after testifying in Diddy’s racketeering and sex trafficking trial, Cassie gave birth in May. This new arrival marks the third child for Cassie and Fine, who are also parents to daughters, Frankie Stone, 5, and Sunny Cinco, 4.
In March, Cassie announced the gender of her baby in an Instagram birthday tribute to her husband, expressing, “You’ve cared for me and my heart like no other, you’re truly an amazing girl dad and I’m SO excited to see you now become a father to OUR SON!”
At the trial’s conclusion, Diddy, 55, was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. Each conviction carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, and the prosecution has requested that he serves any potential sentence consecutively, which may lead to a maximum of 20 years behind bars.
Cassie recounted numerous alleged incidents of physical and sexual abuse during her testimony. The singer, who had an on-and-off relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023 for sexual assault and physical abuse. Diddy denied all claims, and they settled that case out of court a day later.
Following Diddy’s acquittal on sex trafficking charges, Cassie issued a response through her legal team.
Cassie’s attorney Douglas H. Wigdor released a statement on July 2, after the verdict was announced.
“This entire criminal process began when our client Cassie Ventura had the bravery to file her civil complaint in November 2023. While the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she set a precedent for the jury to convict him of transportation to engage in prostitution,” the statement shared with Us Weekly read.
It continued: “By speaking out about her experience, Cassie has made a significant impact on both the entertainment industry and the quest for justice. We must emphasize — without reservation — that we believe and support our client who showed tremendous courage throughout this trial. She exhibited undeniable strength and drew attention to the realities of powerful men in our midst and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without punishment.”
Cassie’s legal team asserted that the Diddy case “demonstrated that change is long overdue, and we will continue to advocate for survivors.”
