Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Celebrate Carys’ Graduation with Heartwarming Photo
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ daughter Carys has officially grown up!
The devoted couple shared an adorable photo with Carys, who is 22, on Instagram on Sunday, May 25, in honor of her upcoming graduation from Brown University in Rhode Island.
In the snapshot, Zeta-Jones, 55, and Douglas, 80, are seen giving kisses on their daughter’s cheeks while she stylishly pouts for the camera. For the special occasion, Carys wore a lovely long white dress, while her mother chose a chic black outfit. Douglas looked sharp in a navy blue suit as well.
“The night before graduation!!!! We are both so proud of our little one right now!! It’s just the beginning!! @carys.douglas 👩🎓🎓👩🎓,” Zeta-Jones wrote as a heartfelt caption to commemorate the family moment.
Aside from Carys, the Hollywood stars are also parents to son Dylan, 24, who graduated from Brown in 2022. Douglas also has a son, Cameron, 46, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker.
In April 2024, Douglas recounted a humorous moment when he visited one of his kids at college and was mistaken for their grandfather.
“‘This is not grandfather’s day, it’s Parents’ Day,’” he reminisced in an interview with The Telegraph. “I replied, ‘I am a parent!’ That was a tough one.”
Zeta-Jones and Douglas have built a resilient relationship, having met in 1998 and tying the knot in 2000. Douglas felt an instant connection, knowing Zeta-Jones was the one for him despite their 25-year age difference.
“I told her after about half an hour [of conversation], ‘You know, I’m going to be the father of your children,’” he shared on The Jonathan Ross Show in 2016. “It sounded good, and she responded, ‘I’ve heard a lot about you, and I think it’s time I say good night.’”
In September 2024, Zeta-Jones surprised her husband with a special gift for his milestone 80th birthday. (They share the same birthday: September 25.)
“In my birthday suit! After more than 25 years of sharing my birthday with my husband, I am running out of gift ideas!” the Wednesday actress captioned an Instagram post. “This is gift option two, with golf balls being option one … of course.”
In a striking black-and-white photo, Zeta-Jones resembled a model, leaning over her bathroom counter completely unclothed except for a pair of heels.
In his own birthday message celebrating Zeta-Jones’ 55th birthday, Douglas posted on Instagram, saying, “To my birthday sister, I love you with all my heart! May your new year be the best!”
