Celebrity Facialist Ivan Pol Shares Insights on His New Facial Treatment and Simple Beauty Tips
For the stars of Hollywood, Iván Pol’s treatment bed is where skincare fantasies come to life.
His renowned Beauty Sandwich facial ensures that celebrities leave looking elegantly contoured — a result Pol describes as “a defined jawline, a firm lower face [and] full cheeks.” They also benefit from a sense of peace and grounding, aided by a soothing playlist and radiofrequency technology. “People carry a lot of emotional burdens,” he tells Us. “[I sandwich] these energies together to enhance not just your appearance, but your spirit. That’s why celebrities become hooked — it’s about how they feel.”
Although the visible results seem effortless, achieved without downtime or redness, the technique involves precise choreography. “It consists of three distinct [layers], which is why I call it a sandwich,” Pol clarifies. His experience spans over a decade as a makeup artist, with a key moment occurring while he worked with Jennifer Lopez. Her immaculate skin inspired Pol to ask for her secret, which she revealed to be facials — igniting his determination to craft the ultimate pre-red-carpet facial.
This year, during the Oscars week, Pol launched his latest innovation, the Lunchtime Lift. “The original Beauty Sandwich was primarily designed to mimic Botox and fillers,” he remarks. “Now I can completely smooth out the appearance of jowls.” The new element? Erchonia, a low-level laser therapy that combats inflammation and revitalizes the skin. When combined with his other noninvasive radiofrequency tools — including the Pellevé wand and a bipolar RF device with infrared — this layered approach helps redefine tissue and realign muscles to achieve the V-shaped, heartlike contour for which he is celebrated.
Pol has trained under the best, with ten years at Dr. Martin Zaiac’s Greater Miami Skin and Laser Center. For five years, he has shared clients with Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Jason Diamond, whose naturalistic facelifts he deeply respects. “I want to learn from those with the most expertise,” he explains. (Pol sees clients both at Dr. Diamond’s practice and in Miami.)
Topical skincare perfectly rounds out the ritual. Pol utilizes his preferred products from Chanel’s scientifically formulated Sublimage line — which addresses cellular aging and promotes a radiant, firm, and hydrated complexion — as part of his pre-red-carpet routine, including the brand’s Le Lift Sérum. He concludes with a mist of Amuse Bouche from his own Beauty Sandwich skincare line to “plump everything and tighten pores.”
In just 45 minutes, Pol can create a transformation. “I alter the distribution of weight — it’s akin to a redesign,” he observes. While the effects are immediate, “the true results will manifest in a month,” as collagen, elastin, and muscle synthesis takes place. Pol is not providing an anti-aging solution; it’s a unique skin-longevity treatment that enhances facial features.
Pol’s Tips for Radiance
FOR A TEMPORARY LIFT
After moisturizing, use Chanel’s N°1 de Chanel Massage Accessory along the jawline, gliding upward along the natural contours of the face in a gentle motion. The expert suggests its “ripple tier” targets areas with greater adhesions for better sculpting.
DON’T OVER-EXFOLIATE
“As we get older, our skin naturally renews — why hasten it? Instead, focus on enhancing and boosting functionality,” he advises. Chanel’s Sublimage L’Huile-En-Gel De Démaquillage is ideal for this purpose, with its gentle gel-to-oil formula that effectively removes impurities.
ON-THE-GO MUST-HAVE
“My Beauty Sandwich SS02 Snatching Sauce is versatile,” Pol explains. Warm it between your fingers and massage it into your skin (or lips!) to revitalize facial fat for a fuller appearance. “Consider it a rich serum — more nourishing than your standard cream.”
YES, YOGURT IS USEFUL
“I highly recommend organic, whole-fat yogurt as a cleanser,” Pol shares. “It contains lactic acid and healthy fats,” which is why he uses it as a mild exfoliating cleanser or natural peel.
