Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa’s HGTV Shows Not Returning Following Cancellations
HGTV surprised its audience by announcing the cancellation and postponement of several popular shows. So, what’s the latest on Christina Haack, Tarek, and Heather Rae El Moussa’s projects with the network?
According to an exclusive source for Us Weekly, Tarek, 43, and Heather’s program Flipping El Moussas will “not be returning” to HGTV. Likewise, Christina’s show Christina on the Coast has also “not received a renewal.”
The source added that the trio’s show The Flip Off is intended to return for a second season, though neither a filming date nor an air date has been established. This news is unexpected, considering that The Flip Off, which debuted in January, recorded HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series among adults since 2022.
At the time of the show’s announcement, Tarek, Heather, 37, and Christina, 42, spoke to Us about their collaboration after years of individual projects. (Christina began her career on Flip or Flop with her then-husband Tarek, whom she was married to from 2009 to 2018.)
“I’ve never shot with Heather, so I was curious about how that would go. Tarek and I have a playful dynamic; would she feel left out?” Christina mentioned in a January cover story, to which Heather responded, “The concern was whether we’d all get along or work well together.”
Tarek, married to Heather since 2021, humorously expressed his “main fear” of his current wife and ex joining forces “against” him on the show. Nonetheless, Tarek, Heather, and Christina shared enthusiasm about the prospect of working together again for season 2 of The Flip Off.

However, recent cancellations have brought into question HGTV’s programming lineup, with five shows recently pulled from the air. While the network has not officially addressed these changes, some hosts have commented on the unexpected cancellations. Property Brothers stars Drew and Jonathan Scott are experiencing delays with their shows, while Bobby Berk from Netflix’s Queer Eye has secured a new series.
Rehab Addict star Nicole Curtis expressed her thoughts on social media in June after her show became unavailable.
“I made the decision to postpone our new shows until fall. I appreciate your understanding regarding the short notice,” Curtis wrote on Instagram at the time. “Producing a show requires a lot of hours (my hours), and my family and I thought – why not enjoy summer and do this in the fall?”
The latest season of Rehab Addict launched that month but was replaced by My Lottery Dream Home after just two episodes.
“Thank you to the powers that be at HGTV who supported our idea. I am genuinely thrilled with this outcome as I spent a day with a dead phone and no concerns about it,” Curtis added. “They are airing My Lottery Dream Home in my stead.”
She concluded: “Fun fact, [My Lottery Dream Home host] David Bromstad was my beach buddy during filming as we were in Gulf Shores, Alabama for Beach Flip. So let’s not spread rumors that he replaced me—I chose this path.”
