Collin Gosselin Responds to His Dad Jon Gosselin’s Marriage to Stephanie Lebo
Collin Gosselin expressed his joy witnessing his father, Jon Gosselin, tie the knot with Stephanie Lebo.
“When my dad first shared the news about his marriage, I was genuinely happy for him, thinking he truly deserves this,” Collin, 21, told Entertainment Tonight during the wedding on Sunday, November 23. “Everyone who finds their person deserves it, but given everything he has been through, it felt even more significant that he is worthy of this.”
Jon, 48, wed Lebo, 38, at The Barn at Silverstone in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, surrounded by 180 guests, including Collin, his sextuplet sister Hannah, and Lebo’s daughter, Juliana.
As a groomsman at the event, Collin mentioned feeling a “sense of happiness and freedom” for his father.
“I think he hasn’t had it easy in the past, so seeing this is heartwarming,” he continued.
Collin felt emotional during the ceremony, particularly when Jon read his vows, declaring he was the “luckiest man in the world” and pledging to love Juliana as his own daughter.
However, it was not solely the vows’ beauty that moved Collin.
“What will stay with me from this day is looking around and seeing all the people gathered, realizing the significance of those who have remained close to [my dad]. This wedding carries a different weight because of all the hardships experienced,” he reflected. “I found it monumental for me, even though it’s not my wedding. Seeing my dad, I recognized all the struggles he faced in his past relationships. For me, it felt like all those difficulties were fading away.”
Collin added, “And that’s a memory I’ll cherish. It wasn’t just tears of joy about their marriage. It was about recognizing the past and this moment of liberation for him, which he rightfully deserves.”
Before marrying Lebo, Jon was wed to ex-wife Kate Gosselin from 1999 until 2009, a period shared on their TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8 (later Kate Plus 8 after their divorce). They share Hannah, Collin, and their sextuplet siblings: Aaden, Leah, Joel, and Alexis, along with twin sisters Mady and Cara, 25.
Jon secured custody of Collin and Hannah after a contentious divorce from Kate, leading to estrangement from his other six children. However, he mentioned to ET in December 2024 that he intended to invite all his kids to his wedding.
“I would absolutely do that,” Jon affirmed. “I would definitely send invites to all of them. They are my children.”
Collin shared with ET on Sunday that it was “really nice” to have Hannah present at the wedding.
“I believe that despite any differences, today symbolized our mutual love for our father and our recognition of how much he deserves this happiness,” he explained.
Collin expressed that it “would have been wonderful” to have his other siblings at the wedding.
“I love them and hope they know we would have loved to see them there. I hope they understand how significant this marriage was … and how joyful it made Hannah and me to see our dad marry today,” Collin concluded. “Ultimately, everyone deserves to find their person and love. The past is in the past, and the future lies ahead. That’s the beauty of a wedding—it embodies that idea.”
