Dallas Goedert Rescues Girlfriend from Hoagie Disaster at Parade
Dallas Goedert, tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles, made a memorable catch during the Super Bowl parade in 2025.
On February 14, at the celebration in downtown Philadelphia, Goedert, 30, swiftly prevented his girlfriend, Aria Meyer, from being struck in the face by a flying hoagie.
The incident was captured on video, moments after Goedert caught a Miller Lite tossed by a fan. He shared a kiss with Meyer, his partner since 2020, just as the hoagie was thrown onto the bus.
“Only in Philly would you see the crowd toss a frickin’ hoagie to a player in a Super Bowl parade,” said the fan who shared the footage on X.
One viewer of the video commented, “They’ve been throwing hoagies, beer, and pretzels all morning lol.” Another joked, “Eagles Parade? BOARD UP THE WINDOWS! HIDE THE ELECTRONICS!”
The parade drew an estimated crowd of over 1 million, featuring appearances by Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, head coach Nick Sirianni, and legendary retired Eagles player Jason Kelce.

Eagles fans began arriving along the Broad Street parade route before 7 a.m. ET on Friday. Though the parade officially kicked off at 11 a.m., some early-bird fans were busy roasting a pig dressed as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Eagles triumphed over the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, halting the Chiefs’ bid to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Meyer, who hails from the same state as Goedert, South Dakota, celebrated alongside him in New Orleans when he was drafted by the Eagles in 2018.
“I know I said this before but.. IS THIS REAL LIFE 😭💚,” Meyer expressed on Instagram on February 11, sharing a series of photos celebrating the Super Bowl win. “God is so good. This is for all the days that weren’t easy. It’s magical to see the person you love reach his dream. Congratulations @sgoboy_88 💚 love you the most.”

Meyer shared highlights from Eagles’ game days during the 2024-2025 season, including a video celebration after the Eagles triumphed over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
The video featured Goedert embracing Meyer before the game, Meyer celebrating with fellow Eagles wives and girlfriends, and a humorous clip of Goedert’s mother, Mary, lifting tight ends coach Jason Michael post-game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
