Dancing With the Stars Dedication Night Recap: Everyone Stays!

Get your tissues ready, as Dancing With the Stars’ Dedication Night delivered plenty of dance — and emotions.

On Tuesday, October 14, former pro Kym Johnson-Herjaveck joined Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli at the judges’ table for week 5 of ABC’s beloved competition show.

“I understand how significant tonight is for everyone, so I’m eager to witness all the emotion and passion,” Johnson-Herjaveck, 49, said at the start of the episode. “However, I also want to see the foundational skills in each dance. Whether it’s about maintaining a strong frame or smooth movement, I hope to experience all the feelings while also appreciating the technique.”

While the competitors focused on their dance skills, hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough emphasized that this week’s performances held a deeper significance.

“For this night filled with heartfelt narratives and poignant dances, we asked our stars to dedicate their performances to someone who has made a significant impact on their lives,” Ribeiro, 54, explained. “And this is the first time we’ve allowed these individuals to be part of their routines.”

Julianne, 37, reminded viewers at home that their votes should reflect the stars’ performances rather than their guests, yet many fans found themselves charmed by VIPs like The Parent Trap’s Lisa Ann Walter and Boy Meets World star William Daniels.

At the conclusion of this emotional night, the judges unveiled a surprise ending for week 5. After an unprecedented 50 million votes were cast, no one was sent home on Tuesday night.
