Daniella Karagach of DWTS Responds to Claims of Snubbing Dylan Efron’s Hug

Dancing With the Stars pro Daniella Karagach didn’t overlook Dylan Efron‘s request for a hug—she simply had something significant to handle backstage.

On Tuesday, November 18, Karagach, 32, clarified the misunderstanding in the comments section of a fan’s TikTok. The video captured Efron, 33, reaching out for an embrace after they progressed to the season 34 finale, yet she walked straight past him.

As viewers speculated whether Karagach intentionally ignored Efron, she laughed it off, commenting, “Not you catching me on a mission to pick my wedgie.” In a follow-up, she acknowledged that she still owed Efron a hug to make amends.

The duo has developed a close friendship while competing together on DWTS this season. In Tuesday’s semi-finals, they showcased a tango that scored 27 out of 30 points and a cha-cha that received 28 out of 30.

Many celebrity contestants and their professional partners on Dancing With the Stars forge strong bonds and friendships throughout the competition. Four years after competing in season 24 of the popular dance series in 2017, Simone Biles called on her former pro partner to help her create a gymnastics routine in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics. This was highlighted during the fifth episode of her series, Simone vs Herself, on Facebook Watch […]

The Traitors alum also received public support from his brother, Zac Efron, who was spotted cheering him on from the audience. This was Zac’s first appearance in the ballroom since the start of the season.

“It means everything. I grew up watching him do stuff like this,” Dylan shared with Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday. “Looking over, my family’s there, my girlfriend. Just seeing all of them together, that’s my support.”

Dylan has openly expressed gratitude for Zac’s unwavering support, telling Us Weekly in September, “My brother is supportive. He’s like, ‘The best part is going to be those live shows.’ He mentioned how fulfilling it is.”

The next month, he addressed Zac’s noticeable absence from the ballroom, stating, “Hey, he’s doing his thing,” emphasizing that Zac was “supporting me every day” behind the scenes.

Dylan and Karagach have one final chance to seize the mirrorball trophy when the DWTS finale airs on November 25. The three-hour event will feature each finalist showcasing three different dances before one pair is crowned the champions of season 34.

“I have a really good friend helping me,” Karagach mentioned to Access Hollywood on Tuesday about what’s coming up in the final episode. “I’ve never, personally, done this style for a freestyle, and I feel like Dylan is the perfect person for it.”

Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
