Demi Lovato’s Funny Moment: Ditching the Nose Ring She Got in 2020
After five years, Demi Lovato is finally saying goodbye to her nose ring.
The 32-year-old singer took to TikTok on Thursday, April 3, to humorously announce her decision to remove the nose piercing she has worn since 2020. In the video, Lovato comically feigned sadness as she pretended to wipe away a tear. She then took out her silver nose ring and showcased it to the camera for her fans to see.
Lovato then revealed her face without the piercing, radiating joy as she posed for the camera, sporting a soft makeup look. Her glam included perfectly shaped eyebrows, a touch of mascara, and pink glossy lips. She styled her brunette hair to the side, keeping it sleek and straight.
To mourn her nose ring, Lovato accessorized with delicate silver hoop earrings and chic black sunglasses. She completed her ensemble with a black button-up shirt.
“RiP to my nose ring,” she captioned her post. “I can’t believe I made a TikTok for this.”

Fans quickly took to the comments to bid farewell to the piercing. “You’ll never be forgotten 🥺,” one commenter posted. Another urged her to reconsider, writing, “Put it back! It looks so cute on you 🥰.”
A third fan speculated whether she was removing her ring in preparation for her upcoming wedding to fiancé Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, commenting, “That only means the wedding is coming y’all AHHHH.” (Lovato got engaged to Lutes, 34, in December 2023.)

While Lovato debuted her silver nose ring — which was pierced by Daniel Ruiz — through her Instagram story in December 2020, fans know that she first sported a diamond stud in her nose back in 2012.
In addition to her nose piercing, Lovato boasts several ear piercings, including three holes in each lobe and a cartilage stud. In January 2022, she also showcased an industrial bar piercing, courtesy of Ruiz.
