Elizabeth Banks Discusses Botox and the Journey of Aging Gracefully (Exclusive)
Elizabeth Banks hasn’t tried Botox yet, but she’s open to the possibility.
Banks, 51, spoke exclusively with Us Weekly about embracing aging and her collaboration with No7, revealing that she hasn’t yet ventured into cosmetic procedures.
“I would,” she said to Us when asked if she might consider it. “I mean, first of all, I still have not, but I’m talking about it. I’ll gather the names of good doctors,” emphasizing her intention to “age as gracefully as [she] can.”
“I aim to offer other women something that feels attainable,” she remarked, while expressing admiration for the “accessible” No7 brand, known for its affordable offerings like the Future Renew range, which features an eye serum, a renewal serum, and a night cream.
When the time comes for Botox, Banks plans to give herself “a lot of grace.”
“I’m trying not to judge myself for any decisions I make moving forward, because this is all new to me,” she shared, underscoring that she holds “no judgment” toward anyone opting for procedures to manage aging. “It’s my first time too.”
In 2023, Banks told Us that she considers herself “an all-natural beauty” and has not “ever” undergone any procedures. “And that’s because my self-esteem is really high,” she noted. “I prefer to focus on my confidence rather than my appearance.”
Aging gracefully goes beyond skincare for Banks. She revealed to Us that her top tip for maintaining a youthful glow is to “have wonderful girlfriends around you,” adding, “I feel much of what we see in ourselves comes from those we surround ourselves with.”
She also believes that glowing skin starts from within. “I genuinely believe that sleep, diet, exercise, mental health, and self-love are crucial,” she mentioned to Us. “Everything is interconnected. Current skincare science supports this. One reason I’m confident discussing No7 is it’s backed by research.”
Post-50, Banks observed her skin doesn’t recover as quickly as it once did. “Your cells age. A lot of it is about prevention because recovery isn’t as quick,” she explained. Her go-to No7 product is the Day Cream, “because it includes SPF [and] is preventive.”
“The issues we discuss, such as fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots, originate from sun exposure,” Banks stated, expressing her commitment to protecting her complexion with both the cream and a baseball cap. “For me, SPF is essential.”
Besides the Day Cream, Banks is a fan of the Future Renew Damage Reversal Night Serum, which she relies on during winter. “It works while you sleep,” she noted. “You apply it at night, and it keeps you hydrated. It also helps with puffiness and dark circles, and I feel so much better when I wake up in the morning.”
If you’re curious how Banks confidently embraces aging, it’s because she has stopped “caring about what others think.”
“It’s challenging,” she admitted. “But it’s the key to happiness. This is who I am. I’m fully committed to this body. I can present it to everyone in an unfiltered way, something my younger self might have feared.”
“Who am I competing with?” she continued. “I only compete with my younger self. I’m done worrying about how I compare to others. I just want to be the best version of myself today.”
Banks first learned about No7 through her dermatologist when she was contemplating retinol but was “concerned about dryness.” She became the face of the brand in September 2023.
