Emilia Clarke Dazzles in Sheer Dress at Exclusive Red Carpet Event

Emilia Clarke made a stunning return to the red carpet at her first major appearance in years.

The Game of Thrones actress, 39, dazzled at the Global Gift Gala on Saturday, November 1, held at the Kimpton Fitzroy Hotel in London. She served as the Honorary Chair for the evening and was spotted alongside Global Gift Foundation founder Maria Bravo, singer Christina Milian, and other notable figures.

Clarke donned a black McQueen dress featuring a sheer lace bodice with frill embellishments, a low back, and a flowing ruffled skirt. Her hair was styled down with a side part, while her natural makeup look highlighted dewy skin, pink lips, and defined black eyeliner.

As stated on their website, the Global Gift Foundation focuses on making a positive difference in the lives of children, women, and families who face vulnerable situations or are at risk of social exclusion.

Emilia was accompanied by her mother, Jenny Clarke, at the event, where their charity, SameYou, received recognition. SameYou advocates for enhanced mental health treatment for individuals recovering from brain injuries, supporting survivors as they rebuild their lives post-hospital through innovative emotional, social, and physical rehabilitation programs.

Emilia herself has overcome two life-threatening brain hemorrhages during her time working on the early seasons of Game of Thrones. She realized something was amiss while working out with her trainer in February 2011, describing the sensation as though “an elastic band were squeezing” her brain in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker.

After being taken to the hospital, she was diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage and underwent a “minimally invasive” brain surgery procedure. However, she later experienced aphasia, temporarily forgetting her name and fearing she might never recover.

Although the aphasia only lasted for a week, two years later, she found out that she had suffered another brain aneurysm during a brain scan. She underwent two surgeries to address the concern, the second of which involved opening her skull.

“The recovery was even more painful than after my first surgery,” she recounted to The New Yorker. “I looked as though I had gone through a war more gruesome than anything Daenerys had faced.”

While Emilia Clarke may not have claimed the Iron Throne, Prince William has awarded her a different honor. On Wednesday, February 21, William, 41, presented the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) medals to Emilia, 37, and her mother, Jennifer Clarke, at Windsor Castle. The mother-daughter duo was recognized for their contributions to charity…

Since the conclusion of Game of Thrones in May 2019, Emilia has opted for a low profile. Her last public appearance was at the F1 Grand Prix of Great Britain in July 2024, and she walked the carpet at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year 2023 in November of that same year.

However, she is set to make her return to the screen soon in the upcoming Prime Video series Criminal and Peacock’s spy thriller Ponies. Additionally, she provided her voice for a character in the animated comedy The Twits, which was released on Netflix earlier this month.
