Apple TV+ officially ordered the series for I’m Glad My Mom Died in July 2025. The debut season will feature 10 episodes, crafted, executive produced, and showrun by Jennette alongside Ari Katcher. Additional executive producers include Aniston, Sharon Horgan, Merman, LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael, and Erica Kay.
What Is the Show About?
According to the synopsis, I’m Glad My Mom Died offers “a poignant and humorous recount of McCurdy’s experiences as a former child actor navigating her overbearing and domineering mother.” This dramedy will focus on the co-dependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a popular kids’ series and her narcissistic mother, who revels in her identity as ‘the mother of a starlet.’

Aniston is currently the only confirmed cast member, marking I’m Glad My Mom Died as her second leading role in a TV series since Friends concluded in 2004. (Aniston is also featured in Apple TV+’s acclaimed series The Morning Show.) She is set to portray Jennette’s mother in the adaptation.
